Hey everybody! Ive been gone for a while but I'm back. I'm almost 2 yrs out from surgery. I let the sliders ( cookies, crackers) dominate. I've been really hungry lately and seem to want a little snack every hour that fills me up. I just joined a gym and am starting get serious about my fitness and health ( except for those damn ciggs!) what I mean by serious is I don't want to be skinny fat! And that's what I am! I lost the weight and that's great but i want to be toned and look great naked too! Any advice?

Hi There!
We sound like weight loss twins! I also let the sliders creep back in and I am not happy about the weight that crept back on or the lack of tone I'm noticing since I stopped working out regularly. I posted yesterday that I'm doing a 3 day reset- liquid protein shakes, soup with unflavored protein powder, decaf coffee with chocolate powder, etc starting tomorrow and going until Friday afternoon. Then Friday dinner will be a chicken caesar salad- protein and some veggies! I'm already looking forward to that meal and it's 3 days away.
I know this idea isn't for everyone but I am definitely refocused on the high protein/low carb lifestyle I managed to keep for the first 1.5-2 years after surgery. I'd be happy to have someone to check in with if you're interested as we move forward and get back on track!

I am not as far out as you (only 10 months) but I understand. I just had hip replacement surgery and realized with my family in town and my lack of will power when dealing with that family stress, I was allowing these things back in too. Worse yet, I started work this week and feel like I am staying HUNGRY like crazy. I am trying to just look at the clock and see if it is a reasonable time to be hungry...if yes, eat something with protein. If not, know it is just my head. I am hoping that after a few days, I will not have this problem anymore.
Please feel free to add me as a friend (both of you) if you would like.
Either way, good luck with the journey! I want us all to be a raging success!0 -
That sure sounds familiar. I am" thinking " I am hungry and trying to hold off until as long as possible for my next meal. I have been drinking alot, but it does not really help. My dietician and Dr say that I would not feel that way if I was getting enough protein. I am currently getting in about 60-65 grams.0
