Weight vs Healthy

I really thought that I was just concerned with my weight and making sure that my calories were controlled so that I would lose weight. However I recently joined slimming world (I've only been to one meeting so far) and I was surprised by how much it is not based on nutrition and eating healthily.
I'm not against slimming world and I do plan on going back but they advocate free foods which include diet fizzy drinks, as much pasta as you want along with other unhealthy but free foods.
So that leads to the question, what is more important to you, being healthy even if this means being larger, or getting slim?

As a worker in the healthcare field, and an overweight woman it is a combination of both. Excess weight leads to being unhealthy. given the amount of preservatives and chemicals that processed food goes through it has to have negative affects on the body. I know it may sound like a cliche or even a conspiracy, but it actually is. What money is there in actually getting consumers to eat unprocessed healthy food? But, rather to satisfy their need to be part of the instant gratification nation....everything NOW, NOW, NOW. Ask yourself this, who stands to gain more, the weight loss industry by keeping consumers misinformed? Or the informed and knowledgeable consumer? You can be healthy, thick, curvy without being a slave to the numbers on the scale. But true health comes from what you put in your mouth. You are literally what you eat. Eat healthy, and live well, eat junk and chemically treated food???.....well you can figure that out.0

I would say slimming down and a healthy diet. A combo where I differ is I don't believe you have to be stick thin! Skinny is not key. I don't believe the BMI is the all in all number either.0
