repiercing after damage done

I had a sternum implant done a year ago. I ended up breaking the implant and damaging my sternum in an accident. Im healed now with 3 small scars there. I miss my implant but scared to redo it due to massive scar tissue, remembering the healing process and the pain after it broke. Any suggestions

  • I know this is a really old post but I wanted to respond anyway. I've pierced over scars (rejected bellybutton piercings plus healed over nipple piercings) and not only is the actual piercing way more painful but it's really really hard for the site to heal properly. I'd recommend now piercing in the same place until it's completely healed and you can't feel any scar tissue. It would suck to repierce and then have it reject :(

Now i am a piercer with years of exp but as english is not my mother language i had to google sternum implant and what i can conclude it is a dermal?

You can always repierce but... what material you got pierced the first time, because in my book there are several materials you can pierce with but not everyone respond the same

It was not a dermal, those things get rejected way to easy I had a surgical steel 14g bar graphed to my sternum with 2 pieces sticking out like the dermals do. Not a common modification and took a while to find the right person to do it.

In a car accident it broke off the bone and into 2 pieces. I have scar tissue in my cleavage now. I want to either embrace it will new mods or find a way to remove it ( if at first you don't succeed hide all evidence of trying)
