Screw gender roles

I am tired of that topic. Okay..so hypothetically....if all of us somehow managed to get together and there was karaoke and lots of drinks involved and we weren't all shy.....what would your karaoke song be?

I heard a Roxette song on the radio and have been singing it in my living room for the last hour. Don't judge. I am awesome.
It must have been love by Roxette..well except the last chorus which is so high it can only be heard by dogs.

I have also done Bette Davis Eyes and Don't Stop Believing at real karaoke...among many..many..others.

Oh, and if we were going to do a duet, it would have to John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's You’re the One that I Want

I really am much too shy to sing kareoke, but if I'm at home and on my own I really bust a vocal chord singing 'The way we were' by Gladys Night and the Pips

ETA And I agree that we need to screw gender roles!!

My go to karaoke songs are

    Regina Spektor - Fidelity
    Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
    Natasha Bedinfeld - Unwritten
    Ellie Goulding - Lights
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

I LOVE Karaoke! I always try to mix in new stuff too, despite it rarely sounding as good. I love singing 80's songs

EDIT: P.S. I don't have a problem with "traditional gender roles" as long as the person chooses to live that way, and it isn't forced upon them.

I'm a horrible singer and have never done karaoke by myself. I only go when it's a big group and I lip sync.

But I always thought if I would, for some reason "Talk Dirty to Me" I think would be my song. I think I could rock that out.

I was confused and thought this was about singing a song from the opposite gender because of the topic title. Guess I missed something. lol

I have sang "Do Me" by BBD and "Baby Got Back" which both received surprised looks from the old people at the British Pub. I was drinking and in my early 20's and my friends liked to coax me to sing the only rap esque songs that I knew. lol Guess it depends on the crowd how it goes over.
I typically sing showtunes or country. Standouts are "Did I Shave My Legs for This?" and "My Baby Loves Me Just the Way that I am"

I'm guessing that the OP - Scott - asked it to be deleted, as the pack of wolves descended upon him..............could be wrong tho :glasses:

I caught what you wrote last night. You made some very good points.

It stinks when you put a lot of effort into writing a response and all of a sudden your post "pulls a Houdini" and vanishes.

I'll take requests. Anything I attempt to sing is going to make your ears bleed regardless. I do love to sing, though! One day I'll prove them all wrong and get good at it even though I have absolutely no natural ability whatsoever.

    Sugar Town- Nancy Sinatra
I've got a terrible singing voice, but this song makes it sound tolerable at least.

And if old Disney cartoon songs are an option, I'd go with one of those... After working in Child Care for so long, I know all of the songs.

Sounds like I missed a doozy...what was the gist?!

I'm not allowed to do kareoke any more, Danielle, since I made a microphone blow up...those things are not designed for use by those of us whose voices are designed to be heard at the back of a 2000-seat theatre, over a 60-piece orchestra and a big chorus. Oops!
