It's a new year! What are your goals for 2013?

I just signed up again after being absent for a long time. This is the time of the year when I need to kick my own butt into higher gear and start losing weight before the Summer. I have about 10 lbs to lose, not that much, but I know that if I don't sign up again to myfitnesspal pretty soon it'll be 20 lbs I'll need to lose.
So, here we go again!
I am full of good resolutions.
I will log in everything I eat.
I will try to exercise every day or at least 3x a week.
I will get on my horse regularly when the Doc gives me the go-ahead (leg surgery).
Good luck to all!
Good luck everyone!

My goal is to STAY ON the program. I keep getting off of it due to stress in my life. I'm thinking POSITIVE thoughts!!!0

I have 40-50 pounds to loose.
Joined last year and lost a little over 20 pounds. Not exactly sure why I stopped. Of course gained more. Ugh.
Tired of looking at photos or me in the saddle next to all my skinny friends. We take photos on every trail ride we do. HATE my thighs and not fitting into saddle "properly".
Day 1 was yesterday. Hardest part for me....giving up my Starbuck addiction.0 -
You're right... a new year and new goals.
I joined MFP last year at the beginning of the year. I lost about 6 pounds in the first month... just logging and exercising made a big difference!
Unfortunately after a few "good" months and some success (about 9 pounds down) I lost my motivation for a while. Then I suffered a bad concussion and really got off the wagon. Now I am moving to a new town - with regular riding lessons, friends, and other young people to get outside and do things with. Time to beat the unhealthy habits!
So the new goal is to be healthier FOR ME. And to get back to finding things I like that are healthy. Everyone says, once you are fit and thin that it is easier to maintain - I am looking forward to that too!0 -
My Goals:
Get down to 115 by the first horse show I plan on doing (mid May)(attainable if I lose 1 lb/week)
Get my horse in shape for some low level eventing
Ride at least 5X per week
Jump a 2'9" course with my boy by June (right now trying to get him to be less excitable when jumping. He takes everything as if it is 3', so I've been keeping him at 18" until he calms down. He is not green, he used to show the 2'6 Hunters' class before I owned him)
Get in some awesome trail rides. (5-20 miles)0 -
I have about 10 more pounds to loose to be where I want to be if you don't count any muscle gain.
I run barrels and I want to be able to place an win and I just couldn't with the weight on! I've been at this since October so I'm getting there slowly!0 -
You guys sound like you're really motivated!
Good for you!
Horse-wise, my only goal is to try to ride more. I only have an outdoor ring with so-so footing, so I'm trying to get a stall for my mare at an indoor for the winter months, and if I manage that I can take regular lessons again. I don't show anymore (I used to event) but I like to go to as many Hunter Paces as I can if my mare and I can get trailer rides!0 -
I've reached the point where I am pretty happy where I am on the scales, but I would like to get stronger and fitter so that I am a more efficient rider!
My horsey related goals:
Get my main horse to Medium level dressage - those flying changes are killing me! Get back showjumping. Also want to do a couple of low level horse trials on her again.
Get the friesian to Elementary before him mum starts riding again.
2012 was a terrible year for injuries and colic for my girl, so I would also like to keep her healthy!0 -
I'd like to lose 40-50 pounds this year. I'm off to a good start, and feel motivated which is the key. I have a big ol' 15'3, 1200 # hand amazing horse that I trail ride with and have been training for versatility competition (think dog agility for horses). But I also have a 14'1 quick super smart and talented horse that I want to ride more this year, i just feel a bit heavy for him now. I'd love to find his true calling and take to the next level, I owe it to him to be as fit (and light) as I can be.0

EasyKeeper tell us more about those versatility competitions! Sounds like fun.
I'm not riding nearly as much as I would like. Just a little walk-trot in the snowed-in ring. When I asked for canter my mare was so excited she squealed, lol! But we could only canter for a short ways, it was too icy / slippery for my comfort zone. I think she'd love to be able to really stretch her legs, but I like it that she's grown up enough now not to do anything stoopid when the footing's bad.
I took her to the indoor once and wow, all she wanted to do was RUN and jump out of her skin. lol0
