Goofed up?

I messed up the schedule not realizing a high carb day came before the free day. I had done a low carb day. So if i have this right I want to take a weekly weigh in on the first low day before the free day?

The book schedule is / mine is

sun high / sat high
mon low / sun low
tues high / mon high
wed low / tues low
thur high / wed high
fri low / thur low
sat high / fri high
sun ( free) / sat (free)

Am i matching them up correctly since I want Sat as my free day? Some how I had it in my head I had to weigh the day before a free day. Am i right in assuming Thur would be the proper weigh in day? I hope my paper copy of the book arrives today. it is too hard to navigate the kindle version!

I think this is fine. Really, you can pick any day as a weigh in day. Whatever works for you. I weigh myself almost everyday, but I'm planning to use the morning of my Free Day as my official weigh in day. I figure it is immediately following my Low Carb day, more likely to see a loss, & it's right before I get to eat all those extra calories on my fun day, so I have the entire following week to lose.

Plus, it just makes sense because my weigh-ins will co-incide with how many weeks on CTL....Week 1 - lost 3lbs, etc....Btw, I did not gain on my free day, my weight was exactly the same.

I think I am getting goofed up because i swore the it was a low carb day before the free day. However that isn't what the kindle schedule tells me. It makes sense to do the official weigh in after a low carb day :)

I think that makes sense that your weigh in should be after a LC day and I would definitely do it before the cheat day.

    But you can pick anyday.

I have originally said I was going to weigh in on Saturday as the book suggests but have been weighing everyday. I am going to stick to Saturday though.

I have the book right here. You would weigh in the day before your free day. The day before your free day is a high carb day. If you don't do a free day, there are two high carb days in a row. I weigh first thing in the morning.

Ok so for me that would be Friday :) My book came today. I am taking the suggestion to put sticky notes in it. i thought the kindle version was hard to navigate. I think the hard copy will let me grasp things better.

I did the same thing. I bought it on my kindle and read it and then when I started back on here and realized I wanted the hard copy. So I bought both. Having the hard copy is much easier to navigate.

    Happy reading.

    Don't worry!

Weigh in the day after a "LC" day.

Make weigh day the FUNday, or the day after (like in the book).

FUNday can be any single HC day.. or, can be split between two HC days (but only eating one "fun" meal per day).

I like the idea of just one funday best for some reason One whole day to now plan so much seems great! . I'm glad i wasn't the only one that found the kindle version hard to navigate!

I adore my Kindle. It's the one with the keyboard that came out a few months before the Fire, so it's just for reading. I knew right away after reading posts here that I wanted the hardcopy. Kindle just wouldn't cut it.

The bigger question is, what day do you want to weigh? I'm assuming that if you are using sunday as a funday, that you have saturday as your weigh day. If this is correct, then just swap the funday for the HC day like this:

    Sunday: HC
    Monday: LC
    Tuesday: HC
    Wednesday: LC
    Thurs: HC
Friday: LC (low sodium too if you have trouble with water retention)
Saturday: Weigh day (in the morning) and funday!

The key is, that you eat LC the day before a weigh day.

    Hope this helped! :)

I ended up copying mine from the book just putting Sat where they had Sun. that has me having a high c day before funday though.

In the grand scheme of things it probably wouldn't matter too much if you have a HC day before weigh day... just know that according to chris, our bodies tend to retain water when we eat carbs... so therefore, eating LC the day before weigh day is a good idea. :)

Oddly with weighing this week my loses have been bigger after a high carb day. I wonder if that could be because my body was used yo a low carb diet and not carbs?

It may but i know my taste buds are for sure. I once managed very strict low carb for 4 years straight and looked great. I have spent the years after that being strict for a few week or months, falling off, binging, strict for a few months, binging , repeat and my weight really reflects that the last few years going up up after going down just a bit during the very strict times. I really thought I had completely wrecked my metabolism t be honest!

I think that is a fantastic idea if it makes the plan work better for you. The way Babeinthemoon talks about diet prison applies here :)

I've been doing a modified version of the plan in the book, 2 low carb days/1 high carb day, repeat, then the 7th day is my fun day (I make it Saturday). I weigh in the morning of the sixth day (which is after I've done LC, LC HC, LC LC. It's working great....I'm not sure that I would lose as well if I were doing it every other even tho I know that's what the book says. Anyone else modifying the plan like this?

I'm experiencing the same thing....was following a paleo diet before this and got stuck with my weight loss...just wouldn't budge and i was being strict. I knew I needed to add some smart carbs back into my diet to fuel my workouts, but I had no clue that it would help so quickly with the weight loss!
