Broken ankle

Hi all,
So I'm finally trying to get back in shape after breaking my ankle in October (ouch!). I'm in physical therapy and making progress, but it's slower than I'd like. I'm not back to skating yet. I'm hoping to get back onto skates next month, but I have no idea if that's realistic or not.
Has anyone gone through this? Any advice on what I can do to speed up my recovery without risking additional injury. My league's season starts in March and I don't want to be too far behind the curve. When I left with my break I was a ref-in-training. I just to want to ref my first real bout! Any suggestions? I used to use KT/Kinesio tape for shin pain, could that help my ankle too? I need to work on my range of motion, strength, and stability.
Thanks in advance!

I broke and dislocated my ankle back in August of 2009. It was a long recovery. But I have been back to bouting for two seasons.
A great resource for information and support is the Derby Hurts forum.

Hope this helps.
