I went to the doc yesterday, he told me to lose 6 pounds over the next six weeks. He told me that this web site might help. I am first shedding all the excuses. This morning I did 30 minutes on the treadmill for 291 calories burned. My goal this week is to stay under my 1640 calorie limit and exercise three to five days out of seven. I know I can do it. I know I can stay focused enough to meet this small goal. I downloaded the app so that I can keep track of all that I eat. I believe that if i can do these few small things.

Nice to see you here! I'm glad to hear that your doctor outlined a realistic weight loss - a pound a week is doable if you stick with it.

Two things help me a lot:

    1. Remove temptation - clear foods out of the house that you know will tempt you to overeat or snack
    2. Plan ahead. Make sure you know what you're eating for the day, and know what exercise you're going to do and when.

For #2, it helps me so much to know in the back of my mind that right when I get home from work, I am not going to turn on the computer, I"m not going to lie down for a nap... I"m going to pull on my workout clothes and exercise. Since I already know this, I'm mentally prepared! I also look forward to it being done. wooo!
