Hello, how many calories are you consuming? I was eating 1200 but also added on my workout calories. I am 10 weeks pregnant and I am gaining too much. Didn't help that I took a break from my diet prior to getting pregnant for over a month!

I just found out I was pregnant and changed my goal to 1665 which is what I need to maintain my weight. I got about the same number from a couple websites I looked up so I'm gonna try that for now and see how it goes for the first few weeks of pregnancy. I'm sure I will end up raising it again later.0

I'm on maintanence plus exercise calories at nearly 15 weeks and I eat them all! 1200 seems a little low, but I don't know your height/weight so that might be fine.0

I do 1665 also, I am in my first trimester0

I set MFP to maintainance the first trimester, so about 1700 calories for me plus exercise calories. Now that I'm in my 2nd tri, I set it to gain 1/2 lb per week, so a little over 2000 for me. I'm thoroughly enjoying those extra calories! I'm 19 weeks and I've gained about 8lbs so far I think.0

I was also consuming 1200 cal for I got pregnant and working out everyday. I am now only consuming up to 1500 cal and maintaining my weight cuz I over gained when consuming 2000 calories.0

First trimester, and I'm maintaining at 1520 a day plus exercise calories. I'm 5'6, 31 years old. I set my MFP to lose 1/2 pound a week because I gain at MFP's recommended maintenance level.0

I'm towards the end of my second trimester and I aim to net between 1500-1850 daily. I typically eat around 1800 calories a day regardless of exercise (which is only 200-300 calories extra). I was also gaining too fast on 2000+ calories. :frown:0

How much I actually eat and what my goal is set at usually aren't the same thing! lol. I set it at 1850 net calories to maintain in 2d trimester. That's about 200 more calories than my non-pregnant maintenance goal.0

I set my profile to maintain weight and it recommends like 1900 calories! And that is not including the extra 300 my doctor recommends. I am 190 so that is probably why, but it is hard when eating healthy for the baby to intake that much. I'm eating a morning snack and an afternoon snack. I haven't been going up to 1900 I don't think. I'm not tracking every day - gotta get back in the habit of logging my food. So far I am 11 weeks and have lost two pounds. I'm not too worried about it yet. As long as I'm eating healthy I should be fine.
Good to hear what everyone else is doing!0 -
I set mine to maintenance which is 1760 for me, but I usually eat 1500-1700. I feel like I'm eating SO much compared to the 1200-1300 I was eating before. I've lost 3.5 lbs at 9 weeks.0

I feel like "the biggest eater" lol...
I have had mine set to gain a pound a week since October and it seemed to be the magic number I needed to maintain. (Setting it to "maintain" even at the highest activity level gave me 2100 and I was still losing 1 pound per week!) I eat 2600 and usually eat exercise calories too. It is rare that I have a day where I don't have the appetite for it. Some days I have more than the appetite for it.
I am 6 weeks and have gained 2-3 pounds. I thought I gained 5, it held for a couple weeks, then 4 dropped off and some came back so who knows.
For now, I will just eat like I was eating and let the weight come on naturally. I will just see what my doctor thinks at my next couple appointments. He advised a weight gain of 25-30 pounds.0 -
I just joined MFP to start keeping track of my pregnancy weight gain/exercise. I am 19 weeks, but I entered my pre-pregnancy weight under goals and set it to gain 1/2 lb per week. The math seems to work out- I would need 1600 to maintain and it bumped me up to 1900. It seems like a lot to me, but I've only been tracking for week, so I don't know if it is working out yet. I have already gained 7 lbs and I'm hoping to keep it to 20 or 25.0
