What are your favorites? I have "Freckles" (from Rurouni Kenshin) stuck in my head right now.

I absolutely LOVE anything by YUI and music from Fairy Tail.

What do you like? What would you recommend?

I've been listening to Jpop since I was about 12 (now 29) and have listened to so much. It really depends on your tastes. What sort of Jpop have you heard that makes you want to hear more?

There's also two different types of "Jpop" to the American audience that a lot of people aren't able to tell the difference between. There's otaku Jpop (KOTOKO, Vocaloid, basically most of the anime openings you hear except for the occasional Shounen Jump title) then there's everyday, "normal" people Jpop. Sometimes "normal" bands do anime openings (Porno Graffiti, L'arc en Ciel, for example) that most everyday Japanese people have heard of in passing. I listen to both, but highly favor the latter.

I tend to prefer male vocals with complex and emotional instrumentals. My all-time favorite band is Spitz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51CH3dPaWXc

    I also enjoy Remiormen:

Out of all the females for J-pop, I think Nagi Yanagi's voice is probably one of the best, she's just simply amazing and makes any song she sings wonderful. Zoetrope from Amnesia is probably my most favorite OP for Winter 2013, hands down. The series she sang for Jun Maeda was great too, my favorite being "Owari no Sekai Kara," her vocals matched the story perfectly <3.

Chelly under Supercell/Egoist has been catching my attention too, her voice is pretty and calming. "The Everlasting Crown," "Euterpe," and "Namae no nai Kaibutsu" are great. (Guilty Crown sucked though, despite $$$$ production values D;.)

I've always been partial to the vocals Yuki Kajiura regularly uses for her work. Wakana's voice is my favorite, absolutely angelic ;-;...but Chiaki Ishikawa, Yuuka, or anyone from FictionJunction and Kalafina are amazingggg @.@.

For rock, I enjoy Zwei, and the occasional Visual-Kei band, but only in terms of songs. I like Nightmare's "Lost in Blue," although it was probably because Mouryou no Hako raped my mind with it's prettiness and mind-f**kery. I like Uverworld and Abingdon School Boys too, (Takanori Nishikawa's full vibrato is godly D;....)

And so much more XP, but I think it's easier to keep track of them when they appear in OP/EDs.

I get Vanilla Salt from Toradora stuck in my head all the time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq1_qkQII34

Also, all of the Houkago Tea Time songs from K-ON! give me goosebumps but that's probably because I'm a total fangirl for that series lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyYsGGbjb8c
