Hi Everyone!
I've been mostly offline for most of this month, and come back yesterday to find that most of my favorites are no longer in Single Peeps, several of my MFP friends have closed their accounts, and Carl stepped down as moderator.
What on earth is going on?

A **** storm.
I don't mean to sound like a *****, but I don't get why people take this so seriously. If you don't like it, don't look at it or do like Carl and some others did... Step away. It is a shame that this board has become like this, because a lot of the time it can be really fun. But when it isn't... It's usually pretty bad.
Why let what some person on the other side of a computer screen affect you so much? Sometimes I read stuff on here that bugs me, so I close it and don't look at it again. Even if I am pretty fired up and want to attack... I don't see the point in arguing with someone I don't know or care about... Especially when they obviously are completely set in their ways and aren't going to be swayed at all by my comments or arguments. If you like to argue, that's great! But it seems like people get way too invested in what other people are saying and let it bother them on a personal level. If you do that, then you keep going back to that place.
I understand that stuff can't be sunshine-y all of the time and that people are gonna fight... That's the world we live in. And I don't deal with things in the real world by simply walking away every time. This is my down time, and when I'm at home and messing around on the computer, I don't have to look at it if I don't want to.0 -

I don't have time to read all the threads, but I have read a few, and this is just crazy! Why are people getting so worked up over someone they don't know having an opinion? I care way more about what my friends, family, and I think then y'all. No offense! Just when someone says something I try to consider the source. I can't really do that without knowing you.0

It comes down to ego and self entitlement.
If you don't share the same exact opinion as some posters on here, they get offended. Personally, I don't care if someone says that they'll only date 21 year old guys with a 6 pack. I don't care if they say that a 30 year old man is past him prime. It's their opinion and they can say whatever they want to say. Doesn't effect me one bit.
Like another poster said, some people just need to GET OVER THEMSELVES.0 -

Not sure, that's why I want to hear what you think, being you were not here for the latest fiasco and you know the group well. In my opinion, people miss some good points and their points get missed by picking out the parts of posts that could be offensive and focusing on that. I also believe people generally don't want to hear or know the truth, and I think as this group has developed and topics have been hit a few times... the males have become a lot more blunt with how they relay what they think. I'd also add that as some of the staples of the group get to know each other better, they know how to push buttons and are electing to do so.
Overall I don't see any reason for someone to just quit the group, unless the content becomes dry... let alone abandon their fitness goals and leave MFP all together. IMO that is an overreaction.

Yeah it's really not that difficult. I obviously don't post much here anymore, mainly because there are too many wackos out there that will take something I say too seriously and some that I seem to never agree with. I actually hate all the drama, so I find other ways to waste time and check in once in a while. You don't have to delete your account, just chill out a little bit.A **** storm.
