I Have A Question...

I have noticed this in my food diary and also those of others so here goes:

Why is it that if I exercise I struggle to eat 800-1200 calories, but on the rare day
I take off, I eat 1600-1800 easy? I am trying very hard to keep my balance but
this is so hard and I honestly don't think it's healthy long term. MFP keeps
bugging me to eat more and telling me about starvation mode, but it's really
hard and scary...I don't need an ED on top of trying to lose weight.

Could all of you share your stories on this topic?

Those of you on my friends' list, please take a look at my diary and give me
feedback, please. Thank you all very much...

Sue

Ann, thank you for replying...I hope others come forward too because I really need an answer
to my question. I didn't want to post on the main forum because I thought it was too controversial.
I'll talk to you real soon...

I have been thinking about this. Some thoughts come to mind, but I'm going to pay specific attention to what goes with me before I write anything. Good question.

Any one else have any thoughts??

Well I consider what MFP tells me just as a guideline. There are days when I eat a normal breakfast, have a wee first snack and then decide to go for a run. The weather is great I make it a long run and all of a sudden there are about 1300 calories to be eaten by the evening (according to MFP)
I don't eat them. I just eat what I think I need and don't care anymore about the MFP messages. On other days when I don't work out at all I might be over by 100 calories or more. So that's fine.
Also: MFP don't know if we are really sedentary (like in a wheel chair) or have hormonal imbalances (like myself) I don't need so many calories. If I ate what they give me....oh boy...I'd be a lump of fat again:laugh:
But what I always make sure of is that I eat enough protein and have all vitamins and minerals.
    Well, that's my 2 cents
have a lovely day, walkers :flowerforyou:

Great question. I was wondering about this. I have limited time on Mondays and Thursdays as I travel and was trying to do extra in the weekend to compensate and found that I was behind per MFP and was not that hungry.

I like your answers as I think MFP always tell the truth.
