Hello everybody. I am almost 26 weeks pregnant and pregnancy has just been a breeze for me I can still wear high heels I'm working out I'm full of energy no headaches No acne no heartburn no bloating no swelling no nothing. On my OB/GYN's agreed that I am picture-perfect pregnancy, That I'm one of the women that pregnancy just agrees with and I was just made to be pregnant. I'm not trying to make anybody feel bad or anything but I'm starting to get sick of people telling me "oh it's going to hit you and when it does hit you it's going to hit you hard." I understand that the third trimester is the hardest. And I understand that the last couple weeks of pregnancy are the most miserable above all. So what's everybody else's pregnancy like? I want to hear all the details the good pregnancies, The downright miserable pregnancies, And even the medical difficulty pregnancies.

First trimester wasn't too bad for me. I didn't get morning sickness really except when brushing my teeth. I did, however, sleep 15 hours a day for about 8 weeks. It felt like I could never get enough sleep. I didn't have a lot of energy or discipline in my diet and workouts either, so a lot of that slipped by the wayside.
Second trimester was really great. I had a ton of energy and was able to do pretty much everything I wanted to.
28 weeks hit, and I started sinking a bit. My energy levels dropped, and I started having a lot of discomfort. I'm 36 weeks and 3 days now, and I'm borderline immobile from back discomfort when I'm up too long. It is usually manageable in the morning, but by evening, I'm hurting pretty bad.
I'm not going to tell you, "it's going to hit you" though. It might not. It definitely hit me though, and I'm counting the days until labor starts.
My advice is just to take it day by day and enjoy the days when you're feeling great. There's not much else you can do really0 -
On my mother side, All the women are in shape look great it's disgusting lol, And eat one of them has had an easy breezy pregnancy. But on my father side most women are obis and their pregnancies are rough from day one up until week 40. Everywoman on my dad side has gotten gestational diabetes. So I'm just hoping I luck out and take after my mom side LOL0

This is my third child and my pregnancies have all been pretty much the same from a health standpoint. I typically have decent vitals and can generally move fine during my pregnancies. My first two were a bit more difficult from a fitness stanpoint because I was so tired. This pregnancy I haven't been as tired and was able to keep up my running a lot longer than the first two. I have definitely worked out the most this pregnancy, but quite honestly looking at all my belly pics, I look the same basically across each pregancy. I usually can only tell the difference depending on my hairstyle from each pregnancy. Count down is on for me and I'm excited to be delivering in 7 weeks!0

So far so good. The first trimest was rough not symptom wise, mostly I was just tired, but medically because I had a handful of times where I was bleeding. We thought we couldn't have kids so we were going through fertility testing and they did an HSG in which they inject dye into your uterous and take x-rays, they aren't supposed to do that if you are pregnant and they did tell me that or test for pregnancy before doing the test. Three days later I was bleeding a lot but got a positive pregnancy test (I had taken 3 days worth of OPKs b/c the doc said he thought I was going to O that weekend and all 3 were positive which is not normal for me). Went to the doc, he confirmed the pregnancy (though not before telling me "that could really be a false positive") and then said to hope for the best because the bleeding could be bad news bears.
Anyway, 10 days later the bleeding stopped, and throughout the first trimester I had a handful of trips to the ER with bleeding but she's a fighter so all is well Second trimester was great, high energy and I got a lot done, and now that I'm getting bigger and at 28weeks i'm starting to get quite a bit more tired and a little back pain but still not too bad. I had about a week of bad heartburn but so far that seems to have been a fluke, I'm hoping things continue to go easily0 -
My first pregnancy was a breeze! Pretty much 0 morning sickness, and I ate whatever I wanted. Now I ended up gaining about 55lbs, which didn't come off for 2+ years, but the pregnancy was easy peasy.
THIS pregnancy however has been trouble from the get go:
Started with major pain in my gut, after two days of it my husband took me to the ER. They sent me home with a UTI (which i told them, that wasn't it). After three more days, my husband and I went to my family doctor. He told me he was going to run some tests to find out why I was having so much pain in my lower abdomen. In the middle of the blood work (after I had peed in a cup) the nurse swoops in and takes us back to the medical room. Doctor walks in and tells me I'm pregnant...(WHAT?) I started to cry because I knew then that this was a tubal pregnancy, I mean that would make since with all the pain. So he had me rushed to get an ultrasound to which they didn't find a pregnancy. Then off to see my OB to find out his opinion on the whole situation. He said that blood work would help give us a direction to go, but he was worried that my pregnancy had escaped my tubes and was now rogue in my body. We would have to do a CT scan to find it. (WHAT???) So I was pretty emotional and overwhelmed at this point.
Got labs back the next day and my doctor calling me to tell me "EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT! lets see you tomorrow for your first appointment!" I was so hesitant to get the least bit excited, because I was still in enormous amounts of pain.
Woke up the next day pain free. PAIN FREE. I laid in bed and told my husband i was afraid to move because the pain might come back. All to say the pain was apparently my colon. ((I POOPED)) Apparently after having my colon looked at, I had been so constipated that my colon was almost to the point of rupturing and somehow didn't.
So that's how I found out i was pregnant
Then the severe morning sickness hit a few weeks later. I couldn't keep ANYTHING down. I ended up losing 7+lbs and felt horrible. Didn't get an appetite until about week 18-19.
Contractions started up around week 15. I was put on bed rest until we figured out a month later that the contractions weren't being productive (yet) so I was given the "okay" to go back to work, but NO EXERCISE. (awesome)
Then the kidney stones...ugh! Had to suffer through those for a whole week! PAIN to the max!
So here I am 24weeks 3days, still having contractions, but eating better. Gained 8lbs so far in the pregnancy. I love being pregnant, but this one is a doozy compared to my first!!0 -
what a story alibur! that must have been so stressful! I didn't even know a pregnancy could "go rogue" or "escape the tubes" how incredibly odd! i'm so glad that wasn't the case for you!
I've been having contractions since about 15 weeks also but the doc said that as long as they aren't not more than 4 an hour not to worry about it so I don't...it's funny how different doctors have different approaches to things. Aside from contractions he's been super cautious about everything else.0 -
You learn something new everyday, a rogue pregnancy?! YIKES!
I felt pretty great up until a few weeks ago (I'm 31 weeks) but now its not THAT bad compared to what it could be (achey back, heart burn, and, um digestive system slowed up) But I can still get out and do yoga and hike a little - work is going fine, full days without being too too terribly pooped0 -
I'm glad some of you had easy pregnancies. Lol makes me feel better0

This pregnancy has (so far) been great! I'm 25w3d along right now.
My first pregnancy went well besides first tri nausea until 35 weeks when I developed pre-eclampsia, was put on bedrest, and ended up having a 2.5 day non-progressing labor that ended up in a c-section at 36w2d. My daughter was perfect, though (6lb8oz) and no ill effects for me from all of that! In fact, tomorrow is that daughter's 3rd birthday!
My second pregnancy was twins; 1st tri nausea and then constant exhaustion once the nausea ended. No real 'sweet spot' of a 2nd tri. Then again, we were moving cross-country, buying a house, getting a new job, and toting a toddler around with us, so that's all pretty exhausting in and of itself! That pregnancy went perfectly besides developing borderline gest. diabetes that was easily managed by rearranging when I ate carbs during the day. Delivered the twins at 36w2d (just like their older sister, only this time I went into labor on my own) and they were 6lb7oz and 6lb9oz, so healthy as can be!
This pregnancy I haven't been tested for gest. diabetes yet and I'm not to the point where I developed pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy, so those two elements are still unknown. But I've been fine besides my typical 1st tri nausea, and I've been able to keep up with walks/jogs despite my growing belly. I'm also uber-busy all day long running after 3 kids 2 and under, so I'm grateful that so far this pregnancy has been so easy! I'm hoping it continues that way simply because if I get put on bedrest, I have no idea what to do with the kiddos. I'd definitely rather have gest. diabetes than pre-eclampsia if I had to choose a problem to develop, lol! Hopefully everything will continue as well as it has been, though! :drinker:0 -
I'm glad some of you had easy pregnancies. Lol makes me feel better
My first one was super easy! I didn't feel that tired, and the early pregnancy symptoms (cramping and painful boobs) were more than gone by the end of the first trimester. I had some nausea and headaches, but as far as food I mostly only had aversions early on. Towards the end my legs swelled a lot, and I had bad heartburn, but that was it. I gained a lot of weight (about 65 lbs), so I had my work cut out for me postpartum. After losing 20 lbs right off the bat, my weight stabilized, and using MFP I lost another 82 lbs.
I figured this pregnancy would be easy like the last one, only better because I am in much better shape this time. I was more nauseous, and painful boobs lasted until about 18 weeks (though not REALLY painful like the first pregnancy, just a bit sore). Then around week 12 or so I took a Spinning class (the norm for me) but couldn't get comfortable on the bike. Later that day I had a bit of bleeding when I wiped. I freaked out and called my doctor, who said it was probably just irritation from Spinning and that I should chill out on it for a bit. A week later it happened again, but this time it was unrelated to exercise.
Long story short, I've regularly had a bit of pink or light brown in my discharge since then (I'm 22.5 weeks, and it's about 1-2x/week now). As long as I'm not having period-like bleeding and/or painful cramping, I've been told not to worry, plus I can feel the baby moving, which is reassuring. I did go into my OB inbetween appointments to check it out, and she said my cervix was closed but is very vascular, which makes it prone to bleeding. Sometimes simply having to poop will mess with it. Lots of things can irritate it, but I've been advised to stay on pelvic rest (ok, I guess) and to take it easy otherwise (don't mess with my workouts, please!). She said it should get better as I progress because your cervix rises and gets out of the way of what's irritating it, which is true (I used to get it 4-7 days/week!) - plus I had my 20-week ultrasound two weeks ago, and everything was lovely (placenta was not low or anything). Basically my cervix is just being sensitive, and even though it's totally harmless, it's still disconcerting to have spotting :frown:
So while I was overweight/obese, I had a great pregnancy, and once I got in shape, I had issues! Needless to say, I can't wait to have this baby so that I can stop worrying - and this has convinced me that my nerves definitely can't handle a third pregnancy! (I was pretty sure I was done after two, but my husband wants to wait and see.)0 -
So far, this pregnancy has been fairly easy. It's the "text book pregnancy". Everything is happening right on track besides the weight gain (5 pound gain total as of this morning 24 weeks 3 days). This is my fourth and easiest pregnancy so far. The other 3, I experienced constant morning sickness for 9 months straight morning noon and night. This baby is also extremely active, especially when daddy is around and talking. She doesn't like me sleeping I supposes since kicking all night long is her thing.0

About HEARTBURN!!
A 77 year old neighbor of ours shared a trick with me about Heartburn at night and it's really worked for me!! Eat an APPLE before bed!! I know that's weird and you wouldn't think it would work, but it truly has for me! And I've had it BAD until I started the apple at night trick
If you try it, let me know if it helped!0
