could I lose 20 lbs in first 2 months?

Hi everyone! I haven't really posted on here too much, I mostly just use the app :)...love the app! Anywho, I will be trying on wedding dresses on March 23rd, for my wedding in July, and I was just wondering if it would be a stretch to say I could be almost at my goal weight of 20 - 30 lbs down by March 23rd? I have been eating really healthy, you can check out my food journal. If I continue to push myself hard doing the videos, and eat really healthy I should be able to lose about 20 by then right? I know that if I gain some muscle the scale would show less weight loss and that is fine.

What kind of results have people been seeing after the 90 days?

See, my BIGGEST fear is that I will keep killin' it during the videos, and eating perfect but I wont see very much change in 2 months, or even in 6 months when my wedding arrives. I know that doesn't seem likely, but it is a big fear. I have just had ups and downs a bit in the last several months that would discourage me. I did Insanity a few months back, lost a few lbs in the first month, I didn't really change my eating though, and ending up putting it all back on plus more! I only did that 1st month of it because my BFF needed them back, and mine never showed up in the mail. I guess I didn't have that huge drive and motivation like I do now. Now I have a set date to reach my goal by. I refuse to be a chubby bride!

So, what are the chances of me staying the same even after 6 months of kicking butt? And could I lose MOST, if not all of the 20-30 lbs by March 23rd?

Sorry so long, I have some anxiety about this!!! Ahhh!

PS check out my profile for some before pics of me at 177 lbs (5'1") and current ones from day one of TF, 134 lbs....last weeks pics. I will try and post new pics every week.

It sounds like you may need to switch to a new program. Your body gets used to the moves and as a result, burns less calories doing the workouts. If you've reached the highest level of intensity you can in TF (jumping, tucking, air jacking, and kicking as high as Chalene), you may want switch things up to lose more before your wedding.

I'm a certified Turbo Kick instructor (broken record, here) and I've personally heard Chalene say she only burns 150 calories MAX doing her own workouts. She created Turbo and has been doing it almost every single day for years. The body builds up tolerance.

You could try Insanity, Jillian Michael's (BFBM, NMTZ, Ripped in 30), jogging, elliptical machines, Body Pump, etc.

Pardon my inability to write or think tonight.
  • Thank you for your reply, I have only been doing Turbo Fire for 8 days now, I have been doing it everyday and staying perfectly on schedule. It is really kicking my butt! I really push myself hard, so I don't think I have built up any kind of tolerance yet! But you are right, maybe after 6 months of it I will have built up a big tolerance to it, that is why I also jog every day after my TF workouts. I am working on building up my jogging endurance at the same time, I used to be an avid runner (before 2 kids and 70 lbs later) and running was how I stayed slim.

I have been already noticing some awesome changes in my body! And the workout routines get a little easier to get through each time. The first time I wasn't sure I could finish, I was taking lots of breaks, but this morning I did the 55 EZ workout and really pushed myself through the whole thing! And my Polar HRM said I burned over 500 calories!

I did Insanity a few months ago, lost a few lbs, but I didn't change my eating habits, plus I had to give the DVDs back to the person I borrowed them from, she only let me have them for a month. I hadn't hit rock bottom yet like I have now. I really like this program because you get to dance and it is upbeat and fun!

    Thank you for your reply!

I'm worried about building a tolerace too, hopefully that doesn't happen! I've been doing a combo of turbo fire/ turbo jam/ michelle dozios dvds an hour a day 5-6 days a week for three weeks. Before that I was running a couple of times a week. It's still pretty sweat and fast HR inducing for me though to do the workouts, so I don't think I'm there yet. I lose weight very slowly. How do you think you'd know if you'd reached a tolerance level? Low sweating? HR not too high? I'm getting the whole turbofire set soon (on it's way) and am wondering where i should start in the mix of workouts since I'm already exercising an hour a day 5-6 days a week.

As far as 20lbs by March? ...... it's doable... but, IMO not healthy. That's a super fast rate to lose weight. But I suppose for a goal like that, go for it. You'd have to lower your calories though in order to get there, and that's the part that's not good for your metabolism.

Don't aim for the number on the scale. My first month of turbo I lost 7 inches overall and I *think* I am dropping them like crazy in the second month.. I will be posting my 60 day results here soon and I haven't peeked so I don't know where I am at but I feel thinner and more toned. I am starting to see my shoulder muscles and arm muscles under the fat. I am a bridesmaid in a wedding in May. I bought my dress this weekend. I've lost about 11 pounds so far and first month I lost 5.5 but I also have a lot more weight to lose than you!

Keep going and give it your all and I can gaurentee you will see results!
