Pelvic bone pain

Hi ladies,

I'm 36 weeks (soon to be 37), and I've been having a lot of pelvic bone pain today. It started this morning when I tried to roll over to get out of bed, and it felt like I had bruised my pelvic bone though I haven't done anything. It hurt to lift my legs to put my pants on also.

Is this normal? Did any of you find a way to alleviate the discomfort and soreness?

I had this, too, from the mid-20's til the end. I didn't find anything to make it go away, but sitting down to put on my pants helped with getting dressed. As for exercise, the elliptical was the best. Rolling over in bed was rough, it was more of a shuffle. Sorry I'm not much help, just wanted to let you know it's normal!

Sounds like pubic symphysis pain (SPD). I have had it late in the game during my pregnancies as well. It's not comfortable, and can be painful, but I never had any major issues with it other than taking it more easy.

I'm glad it's normal at least. I can manage to live with it at least as long as it's temporary.

    Thanks ladies! :flowerforyou:

Downward dog and child's pose help pelvic pain a lot! Good luck!

    Hi,
Definately sounds like it might be SPD. I think I got it around 35 weeks with my first but am already starting to get it at 15 weeks with this one. I went to a physiotherapist and she was able to help with that and the sciatica I was getting. You could try a maternity support belt. I also use a hot water bottle on the pelvic bone and that does help some. The good news is it usually goes away once the baby is born. :)

Hey Rex - It sounds like SPD to me too! I go to a chiropractor that adjusts the pubic bone and it's like night and day afterwards. If you have any questions feel free to message me. This is my second go around with it - not fun!

I also had this since week 23. My chiropractor adjusts it and showed me how to do it myself. I probably would have gained 20 more pounds if I didnt get it adjusted, as I could barely walk. You do NOT have to deal with it (as doctors would say). =)
