I really love the pic that odus posted .. I can't find it now. But I am a huge fan of this whole 'layered' thing going down lately.

Tell me what your favorite outfits that involve lots of layers are like!

Bonus for pics.

Are you sure you're not talking about the pic that Odus posted?

If so, love that. If not, then I have no idea what you're talking about.

I really want a chambray shirt. I haven't found one I like on the cheap. I'm a thrift store junkie.

I wear H&M long tanks under everything! Cheap and hold up great!

I have a couple of jackets (brown corduroy, black twill and army green one) that I like to wear with different sweaters, or shirts dependant on the season...I also have a black and a gray cardigan I wear over everything!

I have no pics...but feel inspired to take some!

My favorite thing for any outfit is the accessories...I love jewelry and I like to mix/match contrasting items

I really want to get better at accessories. I have a million scarves.

We just got H&M, I should check them out!

I LIVE at Forever 21. Yes, the clothes are poorly made, but they're also super cheap. It's the perfect place to shop for on trend items. No remorse when the trend dies out and you ditch the clothes. Also, I spotted loads of chambray shirts there this weekend.

H&M is meh to me. I've gotten a few things there, but for the most part, their clothes always fit me weird.

I do love the layered look, but I still have this idea in my head that any excess bulk is going to make me look like a double wide trailer. I have got to get over that *kitten*.

I am kind of obsessed with the fashion blog Kendi Everyday: http://www.kendieveryday.com/

I have made many a clothing/shoe/accessory purchase based on inspiration I found in one of her outfits.

Also, H&M is great! Don't be afraid to wander to the men's side, either - I've found some awesome button-ups and sweaters over there for myself.

    My closet is mostly F21, H&M, Express, and Nastygal.com, tobi.com, and cottonon.com.
Also love Zara and Topshop but *kitten* gets expensive.

I like camis with low v-neck sweaters and scarves. I've been looking for a good blazer, but have yet to find one. I scored a great denim jacket that I wear with maxi dresses. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

Eta: I'm in love with modcloth.com. I wish I had a gazillion dollars to buy all the cute things.

I once had a really uncomfortable situation in F21 when I asked the sales girl if they made XL in a shirt I was looking at. She got snotty and I went full on sideways about them not carrying plus-sized clothes. In retrospect, I feel a little embarrassed, but I should probably be okay going back now. LOL!!!

Your closet and my closet sound like twins, except for the online stuff. *noted for future use*

Totally agree with Zara. LOVE their stuff, but I'm a cheap b!tch. We don't have Topshop here :(.

I made a stink about that when I was an XL.

Go figure, the moment I dropped down to a large, they started offering an "extended sizes" line.

I still ***** about it when I go in there.

Vneck sweaters and camis are my uniform!!

I am trying to wear button up shirts and layer with camis, sweaters, and cardigans every day at work. I feel like looking cute at the office will be easier when I always have that one piece to start with (the button up).

Oh, I have to wear long sleeves all year long because of my tattoo, so it severely limits my fashion choices for the weekdays.

Thank god you live in Colorado. You would start melting come March/April here in Tejas.

Oh, I still get quite sweaty in the summers here. Normally in summer I'll wear a tank and button up or cami, and just take the button up or cami off as soon as work is over. It sucks, I don't know how I got in to such a corporate environment...

Here are a few pics I found of layers.

http://db.tt/UXKDpBOI <~ maxi dress with cardigan. Scarf would be nice or some long flashy jewelry. I hardly wear long necklaces at work because I have to wear a badge.

http://db.tt/HkwEAzBz. <~ cami, maxi dress, denim jacket

http://db.tt/10M1JTpe <~ one piece dress, shrug, brown boots you can't see. Eta: oops. You can see them!

I'm still not fitting in to most tall boots - I have to seek out wide calf ones... so yeah, I'm all like, "I don't want to spend money on clothes I might have to donate later!"

Which is where the thrift store comes in.. but it sounds like H&M and F21 might be almost as cheap!

I do too! I want to find one I can wear with leggings and belt it. I saw some at Kohls for $30ish, but they always have sales so you can probably get one soon for less than that!

K, I got my boots from DSW online. They have some with wide calf (search criteria) and the reviews are always helpful with knowing what you're getting. But yeah, I'm with you on not spending money on stuff you'll end up donating. I've been wanting to get some really nice things, but I'm holding out for these last fifteen pounds. Maybe after six years I'll finally get there!

I really wish I could pull off the belted sweater with leggings look.

Gah! I just saw mention of tall boots. I HAD a gorgeous pair of tall black Kenneth Cole boots that I got for $55 at Ross. The original price was $350! Anyhow, I gave them to Goodwill after 3 years of gaining weight and not being able to zip them. I literally kick myself every time I put on my ugly $15 clearance at H & M boots. I could totally wear them now! Ugh!

I picked up a bunch of chiffon button up blouses at F21 this weekend -- I'm currently obsessed with chiffon button ups...I do the half tuck (partial tuck in front) and leave the first couple buttons open at the top - for about 15-20 bucks a pop. They have loads of basics for next to nothing (I'm talking 3-5 bucks), sweaters starting at 9 bucks in great colors...all sorts of stuff. Again, I know a lot of people complain about the quality of the clothes, but honestly, I never follow care instructions, and I have loads of shirts from there that I've had for 6+ months and I wear regularly, that have no holes or anything. They've actually held up better than a lot of stuff I have.

I don't think I've ever been to F21. I've always been too skeered because I'm no where near 21, but maybe I need to take a look...

I lean towards the cardigan, skinny belts and pretty scarves layering look. I like the look of more but I can never be comfortable in too much. I'm so stinking hot blooded! Even just sweaters I have to be careful, even though I love them.

^Don't let the name fool you. As long as you steer clear of the absolutely sluttacular clothes, there's loads of age appropriate items for women in their teens, all the way up to their 40s and on.

Unfortunately, if I go into F21, I'll run into a bunch of students...so I avoid the mall for that reason.

I got some great laying camis from Costco, of all places. I wear white or black tanks under just about anything, since many of my tops are too boobalicious for middle school.
