Found something that helped me

I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago and have always had really painful, heavy periods. I was put on birth control at 14-15 and on metformin for 7 months.

I have't felt any difference with the metformin and I was getting fed up with nothing getting better so I started looking up herbs that helped balance out androgen and promote estrogen. Now, my family is super big into natural solutions to everything... and I'm not. I've never taken anything herbal that has made any difference in the way I feel or anything else.

Well, I found two things that weren't expensive and had really good, rave reviews. Red Clover and Reishi Mushrooms. Red Clover is suppose to support Estrogen and Reishi Mushroom has been directly linked to help PCOS/D.

I took them thinking that I wouldn't feel any difference but I felt really good a day after, however, I attributed it to my mood swings (up and down all the time). I continued to take it for a few days and then missed one day... boy oh boy, did I feel like crap. I started taking them again the next day and, hey I felt better. Overall, my mood has been so much better. The fog that I felt that I was perpetually under, has lifted.

Now, the big test was coming up... the period pain. Well, no pain... and just to see if the herbs were working, I didn't take them one day and... I cramped all that day. Another biggie? I started my period on time. I am usually 2-3 days late after my BC is over.

I can't guarantee that these two things will help anyone else, but they did help me and I can't just not share that with you ladies.

Thanks! Where do you get that, and how do you take it?

I got both off of drugstore.com

The red clover is about $6 and the reishi mushroom is a bit more expensive at $13.

I take two of each in the morning with breakfast :)
