Hard time losing weight

I was just curious to see how you other mommies are doing out there. In the first 4 weeks after having Jayce, I lost 17 lbs (I gained 20). Now, he is 8 weeks old and I have only lost ONE lb in the past month. This is despite staying within my calories goal and working out at least 5 days a week (sometimes I do 2 workouts a day if I have time). I have talked to a few other moms and some are having the same issue. I was just curious to see if you guys are having the same issue and have you been able to fix it???

Having kind of the same issue....2 1/2 weeks after having Jax I lost 25 out of 45 lbs gained then was at a standstill until I stopped breastfeeding. After that I lost 6 more and have been working out 4-5 times/week but I've been pretty much at a standstill since. Starting today I'm resorting to only 1200 calories so please don't judge my diary over the next few days, I'm going to see if it works, after all, it worked for me for an entire year before I got pregnant :)

I'm down to 1410 cals a day. I'm giving that 2 weeks. If that doesn't work I will be going back to 1200 as well

Are you breastfeeding? Keep in mind, if you're trying to limit your intake - your body will hold onto whatever calories it can to help produce milk. Also, I actually did not start losing weight until after 3 months, when breastfeeding was consistently established.
Once I started working out again in January, the weight and inches have been coming off.

    Good luck!

I've been stuck for a LONG time. I had my baby at the end of October, lost 20 lbs (I had gained 30 total during my pregnancy) pretty quickly, and have been dealing with the last 10 for over 2 months. I've been counting my calories AND working out 3-4 times a week...NOTHING. People have said it might be because I'm still breastfeeding, but I plan to continue that as long as possible. At one point, I up'ped my calories and that helped me lose a pound, so now I have 9 to go. Believe me, I have been DISCOURAGED and dumbfounded- not knowing how I can change anything. However, I would be careful of doing anything too drastic this soon- you have time. People say it takes about 9 months to lose what it took 9 months to gain. I'm speaking to myself here too- we have to just trust the fact that if we keep doing what we are doing, eventually we will see results.

No, unfortunately, I am not BFing for a number of reasons and complications. I quit about 2 weeks ago.

Even without breastfeeding, your body still holds onto some of that weight for ta few months. Don't get discouraged just yet. My doctor specifically said not to worry about weight loss, whether I'm breastfeeding or not, until after 9 weeks pp and then to slowly ease into it. Like someone said below, it took us 9 months to put on the weight, it takes about the long to get to your goal.

I was losing 1 lb/week consistently up until about 4 weeks ago. I had a two week period where I only lost 1/2 lb, so I lowered my goal to lose 2lbs per week and it worked for that first week, then this week I didn't lose anything. I just re-set my goals to go back to 1 lb per week because I have a feeling my milk supply is starting to diminish and I want to bring it back up. I've been eating healthy, staying within my calorie goal, increased my protein, I exercise more than I did pre-preg, and these last 10lbs are hanging on for dear life! Oh, and I'm 3 1/2 months PP. I think it's the breastfeeding that's making me hold onto the weight. When I used MFP to lose weight before getting pregnant I only had to make small tweaks to my diet and dropped 30 lbs with little effort.

I plateued quite a bit! I feel like each time I'd lose five pounds, it would be another month before any more would budge. Now the baby is a year and for some reason my body is finally letting me lose again! Stick it out it will happen!

You may want to check on the carb intake in your diet versus protein. I started working out 6 weeks pp and did not shed a single lb despite working for 5 times a week. I am now on a low carb high protein diet and it has done wonders.

I stopped breastfeeding a little over 2 weeks ago mine is 9 weeks and I haven't been able to drop anymore weight than what I originally did after delivery 27lbs. I keep gaining and losing the same 5lbs and its frustrating. I dropped my calories last week and hoping it helps I have also given up meat for lent and seeing if that can help to maybe force myself into eating more veges we will see barely a week in and have already dropped 1.8lbs too bad it was weight I had already lost and gained back.

I know this is hard to hear, but be patient. Your body is trying to get back to "normal", there are so many changes hormonally and physically during pregnancy. Keep doing what you are doing! Make sure though that you are eating at least 1200 cals a day including exercise cals, so eat back some of those if your net dips below 1200.
