I had the VSG in Oct of 2012. I have lost 70lbs so far and feel great. The other day I saw my primary care Dr and he changed my anti-depressant up that I had been on for 7 yrs. My main complaint was that I wasn't getting a full nights sleep and he thought doing that would help.
I started the medicine which was in a tablet form and my old was capsule. The first few day I thought I had a stomach bug N/V with staying on the toilet all day. That happened for 2 days. Then chest pain. It was my first anxity attack. Then the main course I took Zomig nasal spray for migraines because I had the worse headache ever. All this time I am taking my new anti-depressant like I should.
The morning after the migraine i took my med and around noon that day started pouring sweat. I became non verbal. Unable to follow commands. Did not know anything going on. I was taked to the ER and they did CT, drug screen and labs. All where negative. About 15hrs later I came out this.
I was seen by a neurologist and he diagnossed me with Seratonin Syndrom.
Since Cymbalta and Viibryd both increase Seratonin but since the sleeve he said thatI wasn't getting the complete dose of seratonin and with the weight loss my body didn't need it. When my new Dr put me on the Viibryd and it is a tablet and it completely dissolves even with the sleeve. When my Dr gave me the Viibryd he only gave me samples so i didn't go to my pharmacy who has a list of all my medications but the new drug and the medication for migraines increase saratonin and put me overboard with it. One more Viibryd or nasal spray could have been my last. So becareful what you take now after the sleeve. It can effect you in more ways than you know.

Wow! I am so thankful you are alright - that you were with someone that took you to the ER. It is scary to remember that the doctor's don't know everything...and that we have to rely on that so many times anyway.

I hope you feel better quickly and are the road to recovery.
