Helpful horsey advice...

Every riding instructor I've known has been fond of repeating the same phrases over and over - some are more helpful than others. And some really stick with you.

My last instructor was fond of shouting "headlights, not foglights!" if she caught you dropping your shoulders or your head. That ones was really good, because it gives you a nice mental image of what you should be doing better. (It helps to have boobs for that one.)

So what are your favourites?

When I was 14, trainer Buzz used to say, If you've got it use it. If you don't pretend! LOL Now we are talking the 60's time of over arched back, pinch knees, crocked out foot, heel down. Oh boy!

anyway, I didn't know what he was talking about!
  • All I can remember was Heels Down! Heels Down! Man...Now I wonder if I have ankle problems b/c of that...LOL!
