    I love this! There is a song, The Origin of Love, from Hedwig and the Angry Inch (culty play/movie about a transgendered rock star from E Germany) that tells this story with some really similar animation scenes. Love.

    It's cute, but Plato also thought it was cool to marry brothers to sisters in order to create philosopher kings (inbreeding bad, inbreeding make crazy, sick children with bad teeth and no chins who bleed a lot, mmkay?).

    He also wanted a state breeding program, including state-mandated disposal of 'unfit' children. So he wasn't exactly a romantic.


    I'm obviously half geek shaped, where is my other half?

    Mara, I should hope that it's obvious that I just thought the picture was cute and the little story explained the artists inspiration. I made no observations about Plato and even went out of my way to say I don't agree with the mentality behind pic, just that it's sweet.

    It makes me think of a lock and key party where the guys get the locks and the girls have the keys and you have to go around trying to find the matching lock for the key.
