Pains, body changes, when to call doc?

Hey Y'all,
What at point do you all decide to call the doctor? It seems like the big indicator is fetal movement so if something seems amiss I first check for fetal movement and if that's good I don't stress too much. Now that I'm approaching the last month and a half I'm not sure if all these new pains are normal or cause for concern. That last few days I've had a lot of lower abdominal pain and back pain and pressure real low in the pelvic region. When I went to bed last night I told myself that if I woke up with the same pains I would call the doc but they have been intermittant today so I'm not sure.
Does that sound like braxton hicks? Is that just normal with the baby expanding? What are your experiences? Any input would be greatly appriciated

It could be the baby moving downward. My back has been bothering me since Monday (all of a sudden picking up a 31 lb toddler isn't an easy feat!) and I've been feeling BH, too. Oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure baby is trying to hang out directly on top of the right side of my pelvis. lol.
I was told the best way to determine if it's BH is to drink a ton of water and lie down for awhile to see if they go away. If they do, it's just your body revving up for the real thing.
As long as you're feeling the fetal movement, I wouldn't be too concerned. However, if you start noticing contractions becoming regular and not going away with rest or hydration, then maybe start to call your dr.0 -
The end stages of pregnancy can be extremely uncomfortable, especially with your first when the head engages into the pelvis. Make sure that the pains aren't regular and worsening in intensity because that could be a sign of preterm labor. If you are having a lot of contractions, drink lots of water and get some rest. I have definitely been more uncomfortable lately, so I am feeling your pain!0

I agree with both of the above.
I had some lovely back labor with my guy since he was turned sideways, but trying to descend. Try the water and rest thing to see if the BH go away. Pregnancy is uncomfortable, but you know your body, so call you doctor if something seems 'off' to you.
Towards the end, my body would go into labor and stall. I knew it was labor, but the nurses wouldn't admit that until I was 5 cm. But that week before, they gave me a low dose sleeping pill to keep me rested enough for labor; since my body would have intense contractions for 6 hours and then stop, I was having a really hard time sleeping. Plus, so amped up thinking about baby coming soon!0 -
Thanks for the input guys that all really helps! I figured it was all normal but new pains cause me alarm since I haven't been though it before0

agree with all the previous posters. i have the same pains.... lower back, lower abdominal and more pressure down low. this all started for me a couple weeks ago when I had a month and a half to go0

I can't help but think that with all the lower pressure she is going to be early!....or that I'll be dilated for a few weeks before she comes. I'm ok with that as long as she's not more than 2 weeks early. I know they say 37 weeks is "term" but I'd like her to incubate a little longer0
