From Monday 11th March Lidl have a Heart rate monitor at £14.99

No idea how good or accurate it is, but from the blurb

Current , average & max heart rate
BMI calculator & calories / fat burnt
stop watch
pedometer & Km / miles counter

Wireless from chest mount to wrist or bike mount

I think I will go for it, just on the pedometer use

Hey, just wondering how you know this? Site not updated that far! I had my £50 Polar H7 arrive today - haven't even opened it and wondering if I should hold off but would like to check specs.

    Thanks!

You know the saying about if it seems to good to be true......... Is it REALLY going to be any good for that price. Does it have a chest strap?

Yes it does, according to the brochure

I have a very old fashioned method of information, I go into the shop & pick up a brochure, which then informs me of the items that are going to be on sale. The HRM is one of these

As I said, I do not not know if this the same, or as good, or better than one costing £50, but for those of us who do not have one maybe worth a punt?

IME Lidl stuff is good value, but you will have to make your own choice, I do not get a "kick back" from Lidl so your choice, just trying to help really

No chance of me getting to the shops so if anyone does decide to go for one of these it would be good to know how you get on in case they do the promotion again

I bought one, but as someone who struggles to work his mobile phone or car radio I am a bit flummoxed on the settings at the moment. I did set the pedometer so I thought, and it measured for a while but now is at zero, so guess I never pressed another button

I have chest strap on at moment, it is quite comfortable, tells me my heart rate is 23%, but of what I have no idea

The watch bit has four buttons, none of which make any sense to me, but I expect my 10 year old grand son would soon put me right

Overall, once I get the hang of it I think it will be fine

This post was really aimed at those, like me, who do not have a HRT. Not as a replacement to what someone may already own
