Does anyone follow the 80/10/10 diet?
I've been vegetarian for a year and just finished a 7-day juice fast and now I'm ready to be fully vegan
Naturally, I'm reading up about the best approaches to raw foods, and I've heard a lot of praise about 80%carbs, 10%protein, 10%fat. It seems a little ridiculous but then again so is SAD.

This is what I try to do, but frequently it ends up more around 75/15/15. It has been working fantastically for me though!0

I'm following 80 10 10 right now0

I couldn't do it. I'd be hungry all the time. I aim for 50/25/25 and am almost always over on carbs, but nowhere near 80%.0

surely not enough protein or fat in this ratio0 -
I tend to be more like 65/17/25. Sometimes I have less carbs (never really under 55%) but I say I average right around there. I shoot to get between 55-60 grams of protein a day...that is what works well for my body but everyone is different. If it helps, feel free to "friend" me as my food diary is open for my friends to see. It's always helpful to be friends with other vegans who are on this journey to better health and fitness!!0

I just binge here and there on as much fruit as I can get in my stomach and usually the percentages are close. It will never be easy to get it exactly to 80 10 10 though so rough enough is still good for me.0

Check out 30 Bananas a Day. There are a lot of folks that Thrive on this lifestyle. The key is to eat tons and tons of fruit. Fruit still has fat and protein, and if you're eating enough fruit, you will consume 50+ grams of protein and 30+ grams of fat per day. If your calories are coming from fruit, your body will burn the excess. Erk, I wish I could remember the name of the thermal reaction so I could site a source! Also, you can use a more detailed food tracker like cronometer and you will see that you are getting the rest of your nutrients too.
I tried this lifestyle and made it about a week. My biggest hurdle is living in the desert and there's often high prices on produce and often a lack of variety. I also have a brown thumb and was never able to get my own food to grow. I felt amazing. I was coming from a high raw diet at the time so i didn't go through any detox.
You can also look up Durianrider on YouTube if you want to see videos of people doing it. I don't think it's for everyone, but if you have the resources available to you it can be very amazing.0
