shame with something that's otherwise so "all italian" that they served it up with Shimano gears and french wheels... though I guess they'd be pushing it to get even Veloce 10 and a paiir of Fulcrum Racing 7's and still stay under £2k...

'Only' 105 kit too. You can buy the Giant TCR Composite 1 with full Ultegra kit for £1899 - This is the bike I had in Fuertaventura & I was very impressed; it was ultra stiff, but ultra comfortable (even with the stock saddle!)

I'd love to know why I can never see the picturess you link to from bikeradar cloggsy - only way I can view 'em is to quote your posting, then copy the image link into another browser window... I strongly suspect my copy of firefox and Adblock plus is clobbering them - but it's a pain in the 'arris...

Interesting BMC btw  Campag equipped Impec... there's an article on that frameset in this months Cyclist magazine - they pretty much built a factory just to make those frames, and to say they're making a loss on each frame is something of an understatement... seems strange, as the team don't even ride them!

If I hit my goal of a sub-hour 40K, this might be my reward:

want to see a picture of the bike I rode my first sub-hour 25mile TT on ??

I do sometimes wonder what I'd have done riding one off the current crop of missiles, plus a skinsuit and tadpole hat instead of a pony-tail and wool shirt/shorts

Edit: in fairness, it DID have a pair of 28 spoke wheels for racing instead of the training wheels in that shot... and these days theres no way in hell i've got the flexibility to get into the position those modern bikes demand (or the "funny bikes" I was riding a couple of years after that shot above, come to think of it...)

    Show off :-)

I figure if I can get under an hour on what I have now, then it's worth upgrading and aiming even higher next year.

in fairness, back then, specialised time-trial kit was few and far between - the "funny bikes" were just starting to come into use in the pro-peleton back in 1984 or thereabouts (those wierd things with a 700c wheel at the back and a 650c (or worse a 24") at the front), disk wheels were prohibitively expensive, and deep section rims weighed nearly as much as the bike frame... Within a couple of years these chiropractors retirement funds were de-rigeur, and I've still got a 1989ish one in the loft, though the Campagnolo Ghibli rear disc wheel is long gone...

nahhhh - this is a fixie... (apart from the stupid inverted stem!)

    CYP197.bs_bench.pista3-399-75.jpg

in fact just looking at that chrome bianchi makes me want to go give the credit card a workout... even if when I ride it, my knees explode, I can still just hang it on the wall and drool over it.
