LOOKING FOR A NEW ROAD BIKE - - THOUGHTS???

I am looking to upgrade my 23-year-old carbon fiber road bike (Specialized Allez, fiber frame, aluminum fork)
Clearly, I have not kept up on technology; the only thing that I know for sure is that I do not want a set-up with a super aggressive geometry.
What have you people seen (and like) for about $2,500?
I try to log 30-50 miles a day on the weekend and ride anything from open roads to traffic in urban areas.
Looking forward to some suggestions

Corratec CCT Team Dura Ace Compact 2012
just slightly over your budget but with 53% off at chain reaction cycles and coming with full dura ace kit its gotta be a bargain..0 -
Everything out there in that range will have a decent frame and either Shimano or SRAM components.
Do yourself a favor:
Worry about finding a bike that fits you like a part of your own body more than the bike's brand.
It's even worth spending a couple hundred of that budget on a good fit. After 50 miles, your neck, shoulders, back, and legs will thank you for the proper fit (and the bike that supports it)0 -

This. Drop the $250ish to get prefit and then go shopping. Nothing sucks worse than spending $2500 to $3k on a bike that you hurt on every time you ride.0 -
BTW this is the perfect time of year to find a bike. At least here in Houston everything 2012 is on sale to make room for the 2013s0

Good call on the Fit Kit. Already been looking into it0

Yeah man. When I bought my tri bike I got prefit and I was recommended an Orbea Ordu, a Trek SC, and a Specialized Shiv. Then you just shop for a deal.0

My husband just bought one of these, Trek Domane. Less agressive than the Madone. He is very happy with it.0 -
Thank you0

How about the Giant TCR Composite 1?
Nice bike; Shimano Ultegra kit all round... Lovely to ride...

I bought a Jamis Icon Elite. Ultegra group, aluminum bike with carbon fork and seat post, Mavic wheels, weight is 15.75 lbs. Solid ride, great in the corners, awesine acceleration. I think it retails ~$2500. There is also the same bike with 105 I believe.0

Thanks all. Going to start with Fit Kit and then take a look. But I have had my eye on a Trek (slightly above budget)0
