measuring vs scale

I was mostly wandering if anyone measures the circumference of their thighs. I never really pay attention to scale weight because the number never changes how I feel about my body. Has anyone noticed they look better at a higher weight?

I've simply noticed that the scale doesn't really demonstrate fitness. For me, I like to measure my thighs every month or so even if there isn't much change (I store things there and not my stomach, so I at least try to maintain), but the scale changes; I always weigh more during track season and less if I'm focusing more on running distance than strength training. So, I try to just feel good about my body, or focus on my strength, too. That way, some variance on the scale isn't a problem.0
