MAJOR plateau

I am mom of a 2.5yr old, have always been very active, working out 3-6/days a week (serious workouts like bootcamp and kickboxing), and log every bite I put in my mouth, including measuring and weighing food.I eat out less than once per week and have a very clean, healthy non-processed diet. In the past 18 months I have been only able to lose 2-5 lbs then it stalls. Nothing more. I am very muscular/ athletic, 5'2", currently 153lbs and that is about as low as I can get it! Before baby I was a very fit 135lbs and was pleased with my body makeup. I am still nursing my boy 3x day, but restarted my period one year ago (and have P ovulation tests). I am currently consuming 1400-1600 cals/ day, and wear a FitBit so I know how active I am daily (10K-15K steps daily). I am never tired and have tons of energy, so I'm not thinking I have thyroid issues. Could I have some other health issue that is preventing me from losing weight? I feel I am in excellent shape but my BMI is overweight. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on? I'm being tested for PCOS next week. I'm beyond frustration!!

What is your bodyfat %?0

This might sound completely stupid, but try taking a few rest days. I think maybe your body has gotten used to your pattern.Switch it up, by resting more, eating different foods and pumping it up later. It doesn't always work, but give it a shot.0

I haven't done the body fat testing at the gym but based on my measurements I am b/t 27-30%... In top shape I was 23%. Thanks for the suggestion on mixing it up... that's what I did with my workouts in Jan/Feb... I went from mainly running & strength or now doing more cardio/ strength classes. I work out M-F, one light work out on S or Su... would you think I could just do walking as my 'day off'? I find it hard to not work out, maybe guilty? Thanks again!0

Your nursing, working out and only eating 1400-1600 calories? I think you need to up your calories. I am 5'3 and 130. I started at 160. I lost the majority of my weight when exercising and making sure my daily NET calories was right above my BMR and I wasn't breastfeeding.0

Check la leche league and other websites. I thought nursing moms needed minimum 1800 cals per day? Then once you get that number right realize that working out means you'll need more. Then consider resting from the truly heavy workouts a little. I suspect your body is trying to glom onto everything you consume to keep up with the demands your life puts on it.0

Thanks Ladies! Just to clarify on the BFing... I'm nursing a 2.5yr old only 3x daily, and would VERY much like to be done with it! I haven't counting calories for Bfing in over a year since I wasn't seeing resulting eating 1600-1800cals/day.0

Maybe you should just put the scale and tape measurement away for a week or two. Stop stressing ( haha, I made a joke.. you're a mom, right? ;p )
I was the same weight for almost a month and now I'm losing again, I started eating more at night like I always used to do before dieting, and drink coffee first thing in the morning ( psst - I HATE coffee. )
My advice would be just do things you wouldn't really do if you're trying to lose weight, and wing it. Just don't go overboard .0
