The First Day of Spring 2013, Vernal Equinox, happens at 7:02 eastern time on Tuesday, March 20,2013
In addition to celebrating spring, we have some Twilight Cast Member Birthdays to celebrate this coming week.

Lee Pace: March 25, 1979 (Garrett)
Kiowa Gordon: March 25, 1990 (Embry Call)
Tinsel Korey: March 25 (Emily)

What Twilight character do you share a birthday or birth month with? Check out the fun link and tell us!!!

http://twilightguide.com/tg/twilight-cast-birthdays/

 My birthday is in late November, I share my birth week with Billy Burke and Peter Facinelli....not bad!

This week's challenge includes:

 Daily check in : what was the best food you ate that day and why. (Yummiest, healthiest, your choice)

:blushing: List something about spring that you love!

:drinker: H20 64 ounces

 Eat the Rainbow- strive for five (jelly beans don't count, sorry!)

 Outside exercise, let's shoot for 60 minutes of outdoor sun soaking fun. Or in Bella's case, it may be more like rain soaking, not so much fun. But pretend you are in the company of a fine vampire or hot werewolf and the rain won't enter your mind!

 Being spring, think outside the box, or climb out of the box...and try a new exercise. It can be a new move, a new place to workout, new scenery or new route for a walk or run. Lets try this at least twice this week. How did it feel to change things up?

Have an awesome week ladies and here are some lyrics to get you going on our new challenge....

Meet me on the equinox
Meet me half way
When the sun is perched at it's highest peek
In the middle of the day

I hope this song is stuck in your head all day! That's a good thing, right?

Fine! I ate all your jelly beans anyway, so there!!

    ETA:
Patrick Brennan (Liam) is the closest Bday to mine. And I am only 2 days off from the Queen Mother of Vampires, Stephenie Meyer herself. Of course she and I have a lot in common.

I love Meet me at the Equinox, that's not a bad earworm to have today. I may listen to some soundtracks while I clean at work today.

Don't feel bad, Yvonne...Mindy ate all of my jelly beans too!

My birthday is October 2nd which falls in the middle of Toni Trucks: September 30, 1980 (Mary) and Jodelle Ferland: October 9, 1994 (Bree). Does this mean I am destined to be a nomad or have a short 2nd life? Hmmm.

Eating a rainbow: papaya, raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, butter lettuce, red lettuce, cucumber, kalamata olives, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli....

Thinking outside the box....nothing yet, but I plan to do another 15 minute workout from my new Ballet DVd.

Outside exercise, none for today. But it's getting nicer day by day so it will be soon!

What Twilight character do I share a birthday or birth month with? Well, none of them shares my exact birthday, but
the month of November is a good one:

Mackenzie Foy: November 10, 2000 (Renesmee)
Jamie Campbell Bower: November 22, 1988 (Caius)
Lisa Howard- November 24th, 1963 (Siobhan)
Billy Burke: November 25, 1966 (Charlie Swan)
Peter Facinelli: November 26, 1973 (Carlisle Cullen)
Chris Weitz: November 30, 1969 (Director of New Moon)

Unfortunately, my birthday is closest to Caius the meanest of the Volturi! :noway:

Daily check in : Here! The best food I ate today? Yummiest - Carrot Cake cupcake for breakfast :blushing: Healthiest - Veggies with Greek yogurt dip.

List something about spring that you love! Easter egg hunts with grandkids (this is a full contact sport). Spring Break! (I'm planning a trip with the hubby).

    H20 72 ounces

Eat the Rainbow- strive for five -- Well, I had those carrots for breakfast, lol. Also, tomato, avocado, celery, mushooms, cauliflower, banana, red and green peppers.

Outside exercise - Only 10 minutes today (a bit of work in the backward)

Being spring, think outside the box, or climb out of the box...and try a new exercise. Lets try this at least twice this week. How did it feel to change things up? Not yet, but I'm thinking about it.

Meet you tomorrow on the equinox.

What Twilight character do you share a birthday or birth month with? Check out the fun link and tell us!!!

Elizabeth Reaser: June 15, 1975 (Esme Cullen)
Mia Maestro: June 19, 1978 (Carmen)
Graham Greene: June 22, 1952 (Harry Clearwater)
Angela Sarafyan: June 30, 1983 (Tia)

Mine is June 6th, so no exact b-day match however Noah Wylie from ER was born the same day & year as me, and Mark Walhlberg is a day older

    This week's challenge includes:

Daily check in : Best food I ate today - not healthy, and not really eating, but the Tropical Sunrise margarita I had tonight at Chili's, was amazing. For healthy, I'd say the lighter style steak & broccoli at dinner

List something about spring that you love! The first hint of the spring bulbs peeking out of the ground

    H20 64 ounces - check

Eat the Rainbow- strive for five (jelly beans don't count, sorry!) - I've avoided the jelly beans so far, but the week's just beginning, but today I had a banana at breakfast, spinach at lunch, and broccoli, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes & jalapeno peppers at dinner

Outside exercise, let's shoot for 60 minutes of outdoor sun soaking fun. None today other than walking from the car to the flea market after I dropped mom & Aunt Linda at the door so they didn't have to walk (mom just had knee surgery last month) And I think Akron Ohio has become Forks with all the rain lately, however, tomorrow we are once again being 'blessed" (note sarcasm) with the white flaky crap falling from the sky, and it's predicted for wednesday too

Being spring, think outside the box, or climb out of the box...and try a new exercise. It can be a new move, a new place to workout, new scenery or new route for a walk or run. Lets try this at least twice this week. How did it feel to change things up? - once again nothing today, however I have switched trainers on fitorbit & will start with her meal plans & exercise plans next monday. For this week, I will try doing an actual program on the treadmill instead of just level single speed walking.

Since I'm falling behind with the challenges the past few weeks, I'll add a couple of bits of trivia - the actress who played Siobhan is from here in Akron Ohio, and the Akron Aeros (AA farm team for the Cleveland Indians) are mentioned in the Twilight book when Renee is mentioning to Bella some teams that are interested in Phil

    Tuesday Check In:

    Outdoor exercise/outside the box workout:
I walked in the tunnels at work, but took a different route changing it up a bit. I came home and the weather was so nice, I walked for 45 minutes outside. Boy, my dogs were barking after two walks today!

The plus side of spring, weather is far more bearable than winter for getting out for walks. Today, A man was rototilling his garden.

Last week we talked about observing scents...it was windy last week, so I didn't get to list any aromas. Today the wind was pretty calm and I got to smell a barbecue grill in action. I had not had dinner yet, and imagine if you will, the look on James's face when he first gets a whif of Bella....well that was ME when I smelled the barbecue on an empty stomach!!! I almost ran home to eat!!

H20- Not so good today. Need to work on this.

Rainbow: blackberries strawberries peaches lettuce tomatoes clementines

Favorite food: I tried out the new granola mixed berry Eggo waffles today. They were 'okay'. I have been buying a mixed frozen fruit at Target that contains strawberries, peaches, and blackberries. I thoroughly enjoy that stuff! I throw it into the microwave for 2 minutes getting it really heated through and have it with my breakfast. Yummy!

:flowerforyou: Have a great week you jelly bean eating people!

Daily check in : Best food I ate today - Guinness onion soup at the Irish Pub (and the lemon ginger vinaigrette)

List something about spring that you love! The thought that it might at some point stop snowing

    H20 64 ounces - check

Eat the Rainbow- strive for five (jelly beans don't count, sorry!) - onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, spinach, snow peas, carrots, bell peppers & pineapples

Outside exercise, let's shoot for 60 minutes of outdoor sun soaking fun. If there was any sign of sun at all this one would be easier. Instead I have snow

Being spring, think outside the box, or climb out of the box...and try a new exercise. It can be a new move, a new place to workout, new scenery or new route for a walk or run. Lets try this at least twice this week. How did it feel to change things up? - I managed a full 30 minutes on the treadmill between 2.5-3mph, I tried to speed up to a semi jog at 4mph, but that only lasted for 15 seconds before i remembered nothing was chasing me, so it wasn't exactly necessary if I ran, plus I'd end up falling, then the eye candy that was doing yoga across the gym from me would have had to come rescue me

Tuesday and Wednesday check in The best food I ate today? Yummiest/Healthiest -- Vine-ripened tomato on my turkey sandwich (The avocado was awesome, too)

List something about spring that you love! Azealas in bloom!

H20 72 ounces Tuesday, 72 ounces today, so far.

Eat the Rainbow- strive for five -- Tomato, avocado, celery, carrots, raisins, orage, and green beans, yesterday. Today, will be pretty much the same, but I'm not sure what veggie the hubby will make for dinner.

Outside exercise - 60 yesterday, and 59 today minutes today for a week's total of 129/60

Being spring, think outside the box, or climb out of the box. I took my walk in the neighborhood where the rich folk live. Their yards are particularly lovely this time of year, and I get to dodge snazzy cars instead of old clunkers.

    Happy First day of spring.

Thursday checkin (because I forgot everything I ate yesterday!)

    Water....24 so far
Rainbow... Lettuce cuke strawberries peaches blackberries

Outside workout....Wednesday I went out for a walk in the evening on top of my tunnel walk at lunch. During my outside walk I saw an older lady (70s) rototilling her yard. I also saw and stopped to pet the cutest fuzzball puppy. He was a 6 week old heeler, he was a merle and I forgot to check his eye color. Met the puppy's human mama who was very nice and her 2 year old niece gave me a hug when I got ready to start my walk again. The last 2 times I have walked I have come upon this group of women out walking. I thought I might ask if they want another walker, but I am a loner and I also don't want to intrude. Maybe next time I see them out....

Outside workout minutes so far: 80 I think.

Another thing I love about spring: longer daylight hours! Thankfully this keeps me from putting on my pjs as soon as I get home from work! Also, I love the potted hyacinths in the store that smell so awesome! When I get a house I am planting bulbs!!!

Walked in the tunnels today and took different routes to mix it up. Walked outside to cool down and the wind was ferocious! Winter storm warning for this weekend....doggonnit!

I've done horribly the past few days, the extent of my outside activity was the walk from the parking deck to the casino yesterday. Back to work tomorrow, I'm going to try to walk on breaks, weather permitting, and I start with my new fitorbit trainer monday. Tried Quinoa for the first time today at breakfast, have to share the recipe I pinned last night

    Microwave Cinnamon Maple Breakfast Quinoa
    A quick and healthy breakfast!

yield: 2 SERVINGS prep time: 3 MINUTES cook time: 7 MINUTES total time: 10 MINUTES
    INGREDIENTS:
    1/2 cup quinoa
    1 cup cold water
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon + more for garnish
    2 teaspoons butter
    milk or cream, to taste
    maple syrup, to taste
    banana slices

    DIRECTIONS:
Place quinoa in water and rinse well.

Drain quinoa, then stir in 1 cup cold water, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon butter. Microwave on high for 4 minutes. Stir and microwave 3 more minutes. Remove from microwave, cover with foil and sit 2 minutes. Fluff quinoa and stir in remaining butter. Divide between 2 bowls and top with milk, maple syrup, banana slices and cinnamon to taste.

    This week's challenge includes:

Daily check in : Best food I ate today - the new asiago ranch grilled chicken flatbread from Wendy's

List something about spring that you love! I saw a Robin today

    H20 64 ounces - check

Eat the Rainbow- strive for five (jelly beans don't count, sorry!) - I have gotten a few colors of jelly beans, but today I had grapes & a banana at breakfast, lettuce on the sandwich, apple, strawberries & fresh pineapple at lunch, then jalapeno on my sandwich at dinner

Outside exercise, let's shoot for 60 minutes of outdoor sun soaking fun. Managed 8 minutes today, going to try for 2 walks tomorrow

Being spring, think outside the box, or climb out of the box...and try a new exercise. It can be a new move, a new place to workout, new scenery or new route for a walk or run. Lets try this at least twice this week. How did it feel to change things up? - today I walked further at work than normal, usually i just go to the next driveway, instead today I went a bit further before coming back (only on a 10 minute break)
