Well, I was doing dip lockouts on Thursday and missed my footing and came crashing down on the dip bar. Knocked the wind out of me. Was in some pain, stretched and moved on with my day. Went in on Friday morning, still in pain, thinking it was just a deep tissue bruise and knocked out 13.2 (modified at 55# and a 16" box). Was feeling very proud. Had a crazy busy weekend with guests in town and my son's 2nd birthday party. Went to bed on Sunday and heard a pop. Was in severe pain until the next am. Went to doc and he confirmed a broken rib. I can still CF but have to modify everything I do now instead of just a few things! Went back on Tuesday to start my 10th week of CF, and was irritated I couldn't use the bar to work on my cleans and power cleans. My coach is awesome though and gave me a great drill to run using a med ball. Still got a great workout in.
However, I am so irritated. I do NOT want anything to derail me. I have had such great momentum and drive thus far.
Bright side, is I can still go in and workout. I guess I will just be working on technique more than weight.

Vent over.

I am with you :) Popped my knee in Tuesday's WOD - ortho today. I will probably go also once I know what the deal is after doc today. One leg rowing and some upper body stuff, I'm sure there is plenty for me to do. I was doing really well also so I can completely relate to you - I just started in mid-December.

If you need more venting/progress reports/how you're doing, feel free to add/message me!
  • It must be the week for this sort of stuff! I've been out of CF all week because of a spider bite that turned into a staph infection on the underside of my arm! I had a nine inch sore on Monday that went from about my arm pit to almost my elbow!!! It has gone down to about 3 inches as of this morning. I think I will be back in the box on Monday. I hope that both of you heal quickly and can find ways to modify your workouts so you keep up the momentum.

I popped a rib out last year and it takes a while, I think it was about 6 weeks before the pain was totally gone. I kept working out too.

Thanks to you all...I hope you get to feeling better too!
ZILLA--thanks for that...I was expecting about 6 weeks. Hoping for less, but trying to be real.

I just had to avoid a shock to the ribs or ab work. I wore a weight lifting belt for 6 weeks to help out.
