1st trimester weight/calorie question

Hey ladies! I am 6 weeks. EDD 11/30/13. I was 128 when I found out I was preggo and today I weighed and was 131. I had changed my calories to maintenance but with exercise I have still been "under goal" every day. I am pretty active because of my two boys who are 3 and 4. So it is strange to me that I have gained 3 pounds when I only recently found out I was pregnant. Just wondering if anyone else has gained early when they have still been watching their calorie intake. And also, what others are doing on their calorie settings. Thanks! I am trying not to stress about it, but I worked so hard to lose weight before I got pregnant and want to be careful to only gain between 25 -30 pounds this time around so it won't be so much to lose after:) Thanks!

I wouldn't stress about it too much. I haven't gained yet except for this 2-3lbs that likes to come and go as it pleases.

I started out around 109lbs, go up to 111-112lbs, then go back down to 109lbs. Actually yesterday I was 108lbs when I woke up, but was 111lbs this morning....I did not gain 3lbs of fat overnight...LOL...

I'm also eating at maintenance and usually come up a little under, but I've been bad about logging some things (like that bag of Almong M&M's than my hubby had sitting open on the kitchen table...did I eat 4 or 8 or 20???) so I try to stay under in case I mess up.

I think the 2-3lbs I'm gaining and losing is from bloating. For me it's like PMS bloating that just hangs around for a few days at a time, then goes away and comes right back.

I gained three pounds almost right away and haven't gained another since and I am 13 weeks now. I have been eating at maintenence, which is 2100 for me. I just moved up to 2200 for the second Tri and may increase a little more if it doesn't feel like enough. :)

I ate at maintenance for awhile and as I got hungrier I upped my calories little by little to about 100 calories above maintenance for the 2nd trimester. For me, that is 1870 calories. If I get more hungry, I will start to eat more but for now feel like I'm gorging myself sometimes. My doctor suggested that I try to only gain 5 pounds by 20 weeks then after that I can gain 1 pound per week. I'm trying but don't know if I'm gonna be able to do it. I'm at a 3 pound gain now at 15 weeks.

I've been at maintenance since learning I was pregnant and just eat a bit over on days that I'm hungry. I'm now at 24 weeks and gained 9lb total which I am happy about, 16 weeks left, up to 16lb left to gain (I'm hoping to gain 20lb total because I had a 9lb6oz baby when I gained 23lbs so I'm trying for a normal-sized baby lol). I think I'm leaving it on maintenance for the rest of the pregnancy and keep doing this.. the body will gain weight regardless of what you do lol (two weeks in a row I had 2lb jumps in weight gain with no discernible source of where that weight came from.. I wasn't eating 14000 extra calories, that's for sure, haha!)

At the start you might just be bloating a lot, I had that too in the first trimester or you may be retaining water as well.
