High Chair recommendations

I haven't looked at these too much, but my son is 4 months old and want to think about this soon. I for sure want a portable one to attach to the table when we go places, but didn't know if that was adequate or if we would need another. I don't want a regular one due to limited space. Thanks! Also, for those of you who started babies on solids before they could sit up completely, how did you did it?

I got a baby trend nothing fancy. but it went into different heights, and laid back too. did take up room but we have a more open area by our dining table, so can't help w the one that attach to the table.
as for not sitting up completly I fed the kids in the bouncer chair till they were ready to sit up on their own.. or a swing/even the car seat ..0 -
I have a fisher price space saver. It hooks to one of my dining room chairs and it has multiple positions. It would lay back when she was a newborn and it will sit upright and it turns into a toddler chair when she is older so I will not have to buy a booster seat later. I love it they come in pink and green and I think it was around $50-$60 I think my moms friend bought it for me0

Fisher Price Space Saver was recommended to me, too.
We ended up getting a full size chair (Evenflo Modern) because we have the space and I got a smokin deal on it. High chairs are stupidly expensive! We are probably going to get a smaller one for visiting other places though. For everyday use I like having the big one.
Even if your baby can't sit on his own, he will be supported really well when you strap him in to the chair. Max can't sit on his own, but he sits nicely in his high chair and eats like a champ.0 -
I thought about doing a space-saver, but I liked that when my son was in the regular high chair, I could adjust the height so that when I sat in a chair, he and I could both be on the same level. I started rice cereal at 4 months, and he was sitting fine by then. At that point it was once a day for maybe 20 minutes (and probably not even every day), so it wasn't a huge deal. I moved him to a booster seat about a month before his 2nd birthday, which was probably later than necessary.
Anyway, this was the one I bought (Fisher Price Luv U Zoo): http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Luv-Clean-High-Chair/dp/B0042D69YM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364916151&sr=8-1&keywords=fisher+price+luv+u+zoo+high+chair
My review is the 4th one down, called "Great high chair, value, and SAFETY!" (written by Rebecca in Charleston, SC). I still have no complaints about it. It's about $90 on Amazon, but I got mine at Babies 'R Us, which lists it at $85, and used a 20% off coupon, making it about $70 there. Definitely keeping it for baby #2, and then I will sell it!
ETA that this high chair (along with many others) also reclines, so you can give your baby a bottle in it, if he uses a bottle. I never bothered with the high chair for just that. If he had a bottle while he was eating solids, that was a different story, but by then he was sitting up just fine.0 -
Thanks ladies. I like the idea of the space saver, but I will probably have to actually go look at ones first. I will be buying one in the next month probably.0

Have to agree with the space saver. Had one for my 3 year old and use it now for my 6 month old.0

As far as portable/space-saving chairs, I had a short period of time where I was bringing my son to the office every day, and I considered buying this, which had really good ratings on Amazon and Babies 'R Us:

I see a lot of this one in friends' pictures of their kids on Facebook. It looks like it's the same fabric as the Fisher-Price chair I recommended above, which is nice, but they use regular straps, not the rubbery ones that the chair I recommended has:

This is what I ended up buying for my son in the Miro print to use in my office (my desk is actually just a big table, so it hooked on easily). We liked it well enough, and it was very portable. However, when we went to visit my parents for a week, I brought it with me, and the lip on their kitchen table was especially big, so we were unable to use it. Otherwise, the biggest downside was that on the second day of use, my son threw up on it, and I had to get toothpicks to get the vomit out of the crevices. It was really gross. Crumbs also get stuck easily. It also looks complicated to hook onto a table, etc., but it is much easier than it looks. If you wanted to put it up/take it down for each meal, once you got the hang of it, it would only take you about 20-30 seconds to set up:

We have a Graco with 2 interchangeable seat covers that a machine washable! SO nice! Adjustable tray that you can pull off with one hand very handy when holding baby. Collapses easily and had adjustable heights so you can use at any dinner table and has wheels! I absolutely LOVE this thing! I think it is called the Contempo series. I highly recommend. You can buy it at Target for around $70-80 I think.0
