Hi and Congratulations! I'm expecting my fifth in October, so we're kinda in the same boat. Since I found out I've set my calories to maintenance and as I'm so tired all the time I've gone from lightly active to sedentary as I nap a lot (I'm a stay at home mum of four boys). I still workout nearly every day with a walk and an exercise dvd and adjust this setting when necessary aswell. This sets my calories at about 2000 a day and on this I sometimes lose a pound or gain a pound depending on how active I've managed to be throughout the week. I'm hoping as I reach the second trimester and have more energy (and nap less) I'll be near enough back to my normal level of activity and move my settings back to lightly active, which will increase my calories slightly. Then probably move it back down again for the last trimester. As I slow down I want just baby to be piling on the pounds and not me! I have been told to try and keep my weight gain down as much as possible to around 14lbs. You may have to fiddle with your settings a little to work out what's best for you. I know some people go from maintenance in the first trimester to gain a half pound a week in the second. But I figure as long as I'm eating a good balanced diet of at least 2000 calories a day and taking my pregnancy vitamins I'll stay at maintenance and not worry too much as long as I don't balloon up. I'll go back to losing weight in the New Year and concentrate on being fit until then.
  • thankyou, congrats to you as well. i think ill do the same thing. when are you due?
