Water Retention

Hi ladies, just wanted to see if anyone is experiencing anything similar. For the past few months I've been experiencing a lot of water retention. I can tell it's water because my ring is very tight first thing in the morning, and as the day goes on it becomes looser, by the end of the day it's slipping off. I drink at least two litres of water a day, if I workout I drink more. I do drink lots of drinks containing caffeine, but the level of these hasn't really changed over the past year. I used to just experience this just before my period, but the only time I'm not experiencing it at the moment is the week after. Has anyone experienced anything similar? is there anything I can do to prevent it? it's uncomfortable more than anything else. I don't watch my sodium levels too closely, but at the most I'm usually halfway to my daily goal.

A harmless easy suggestion to try would be herbal tea. You can find some examples here: http://www.livestrong.com/article/138178-which-herbal-teas-are-diuretic/ But there are plenty more kinds out there.
One important thing though- do you check your blood pressure? Water retention is normal from time to time, but if you are experiencing it every day it can be a sign of hypertension, heart, or kidney problems and you should see your doctor to rule out important problems.0 -
yes I'm a pharmacist, I can check it whenever i want. I don't have any other signs of anything serious. I think it may be hormonal, as I haven't had regular cycles for a long time. but it may be time for a blood test just to check everything is in working order!0

For me I used to get it on my ankles alot. Someone told me to try vitamin c. So I did and now haven't had that problem. I haven't researched it, but it worked for me. I have a dissolvable one every morning. Just have to remember to scan it though as it has some calls in it, about 9.0
