That's funny (not ha-ha funny) because I have, for the most part, measured right on for both of my pregnancies. Never has my doctor told me that she thinks I should look bigger or smaller. We all carry differently, even from pregnancy to pregnancy, so I'd have to imagine that the measurement is what's most important right now.

I know it's hard not to stress about it, especially with your past history, but I think your doctor is overthinking it. Maybe he's one of those over-cautious doctors? (That's why I love my OB; she's so laid-back unless there's something to worry about.)

Honestly I would just go with it. Take it as another chance to see an ultrasound, and since you're measuring just fine, I wouldn't worry about it. :flowerforyou:

I haven't been told I look small but in my last pregnancy I lost a lot of weight at the end of the 2nd trimester so my doctor sent me for an ultra sound and we found out that our baby had IUGR (inter uterine growth restriction) and low fluid. I was hospitalized, had to go to the doctor 3 times a week after release, had to see a specialist, etc. We had to deliver early because she started going down but she was great and other then a few fairly minor issues with her health she's been really healthy!

I wouldn't stress too much though. You've gained a good amount of weight, you're measuring like you're supposed to...it's likely nothing but an issue with the way you are carry...so cosmetic more than anything.

I have had an ultrasound every month since I got pregnant, because I have a risk for IUGR. The ultrasounds have been spot on with the tape measures being small. Go see your baby and try not to worry. You are close enough if they decide the baby is better in or out they'll do what's best.
