corgi cross with limp need advice

my 8 month old corgi/lab cross is limping and savoring his front left leg. the foot is slightly splayed out further than the other. before i go and spend exorbitant amount on x-rays and other vet bills i was hoping o\for some advise.

do you know if he/she jumped from a high place and landed the wrong way? did he/she get stung by a bee? has he/she been messing with his/her leg for a while (biting it?). growth spurt too fast? i am not a vet, but this is what i would try to think of.0

It has been a couple weeks of limping and I'm not sure how it started. as i was sick and a friend was walking him. it seems to have come on slowly rather than being caused by one incident.0
