Finally, a season 7 episode that was brilliant! I wasn't scared, but I was interested and waiting to see what happened next.

It was fun and interesting! That Clara is "Just a girl." is not the answer the Doctor was looking for.

You know, I wasn't really looking forward to it, which, frankly saddened me... I knew the basic premise before I saw the ep and thought... hmmmm... yeah, I don't think I'll like this...

...but I was very pleasantly surprised... in fact, I thought, "finally! Now it's getting good!"

This one actually had some subplots and secondary / tertiary storylines... good, episodic structuring...

Some great humorous moments, the story points were wrapped up and I *loved* the original idea behind the ghost... very creative. This was the Who I'd come to know and love.

In fact, halfway through the ep, before the big "reveal" regarding the ghost, it actually inspired me to come up with a ghost-themed short story :)

This one was AMAZING! The first good scare I've had since "Blink". I even screamed a few times (he, he) :blushing: I'm hoping the rest of the episodes have thoughtful writing like this one.

I just watched it this morning... right after waking up. I'm not sure that was such a good idea. lol

It was a good episode. I did find it humourous that the Doctor was given the answer that Clara was "Just a girl." I also liked the follow-up line ... "Isn't that enough?"

Yes, hopefully we've reached a turning point and the episodes will pick up... I really think Cold War as weak - as was A Town Called Mercy in the first half of the season.

In fact, Saturday night was the first time I was kinda "meh" about watching Who... I actually wasn't that bothered... fortunately, they proved me wrong :)

mrsjhcrabtree, I LOVE your Star Wars banenr!!

All in all, yes a much better episode than they have been, but does anyone else feel the episodes are shorter and more disjointed? It's like Moffat has a ton of ideas to put into each episode but a bunch more gets edited out and the result always feels slightly discombobulated.......

This one was much better. What makes a great episode, aside from the story itself, is fantastic dialog. And this episode was packed with interesting and revealing dialog.

I loved the "subset of the Eye of Harmony" and the Metebelis III crystal. That crystal goes back to a 1973 story, "The Green Death" with Jon Pertwee. Awesome stuff for the Doctor Who geeks. (It also appears in the 1974 story, "The Planet of Spiders").

Next week's looks pretty interesting too.

See, it's little nods and references like that that really make me wish I'd actually watched the classic series as a kid!!!

    Thank God you're here LOL
