I'm sorry, I'm just not the type of person who eats nuts and berries. I like food... wait no I LOVE food... If I didn't I wouldn't be joined to this website to be honest. I have a few ways to gain energy. I've been taking raspberry pills such as KetoneRX and I was also taking green pills... These pills work GREAT. When I had a job or if going to school, they would keep me up as good as an energy drink, but the biggest downside is that if I dont take them or run out I am TERRIBLY tired the next day... like so tired I will be melted in my bed, I wont even want to lift a finger. Now coffee is good for energy but then you have to worry about those empty calories, stained teeth and other things (BTW, I can't drink it black, I must have cream... LOTS cream... are you starting to get why I'm having weight trouble yet)
But what can I do... what are some REALLY good tasting foods or drinks that will up my amount of energy. I know apples and banana's but I'm tired of the same things. What do YOU guys like (not force yourself to eat it cuz its good for you - like coconut water, ick!) to eat or drink (drinking is actually better for me...) that is healthy, refreshing and helps you get through the day

Hi Kris,
I have had a problem with energy. I have used www.lifescript.com, www.webmd.com, and www.rodale.com to help me understand how food works to give you energy. One thing I learned is timing of food and combinations of food that will give you energy. WebMD has an article entitled, "eat to boost your energy." This was very helpful. Dr. Oz has some good information about food as well. The article entitled, "Solutions to Supercharge Your Energy" and "Instant Energy Add On" are all helpful. I find that there is no one solution. I have done a lot of reading since I'm not working. I don't know your age but I'm 60 with depression. Reading these articles have helped me immensely and now I'm full of energy and not so depressed. Good Luck.0 -
Thanks aeking, this will be very helpful to me. I'm still a youngen (27) but I've dealt with lots of depression and insomnia (not being able to sleep, therefore rolling on lack of sleep) I think if I can knock out that depression and use more energy during the day my body will help me sleep better at night and insomnia wont be so much of a problem. I will check out these websites and hopefully the results will be as fruitful for me as it was you .0

Juicing can be an excellent way to boost energy. There are tons of sites that give great recipes or making smoothies.0

I want to do smoothies but I don't have a blender. I've heard of some great smoothies and you can add just about anything nutritious in them without your stomache churning and forcing yourself to eat it. Not only that but smoothies are a good way to also keep you from getting those cravings for sweets hmmmm... I'm going to need to go get a blender, lol.0

Kris,
Juicing is fine but you have to be careful because your body digests juice different than whole fruit. You actually would be better off eating the fruit. It is digested slower than juice therefore letting you feel fuller longer and you get a lot more fiber eating it whole.
I too suffer from depression and insomnia. Eating healthier, exercising, and meditation have all helped with both problems. I'm almost sleeping 8 hours. I still wake up during the night but I'm only waking up once, which is great. Getting adequate sleep really helps with the depression. I hope all this helps you. Good Luck.0
