I just wanted to introduce my self as I am new to the group.
I am a working mom of two young children. I try to keep active as I am in law enforcement. But ever since my 2nd child and being diagnosed with hypothyroid I can't seem to lose the 15 to sometimes 20 lbs I am carrying.
In the past few weeks, I have changed my diet, eliminating most dairy due to lactose intolerance, and even removed wheat not that I am celiac as well as rarely have junk food.
I only weigh my self on weekends which is good as I used to weigh my self every day,
I am active 5 days a week.
At Christmas time I was 144 but than after I was 151 and have been working hard since than to lose weight I am currently hovering between 146 and 147. It has been 4 months since Christmas and that is all that I have lost. It is very discouraging. I used to count calories and the results were the same, my cousin who is a natural health nutrionist (spl ?) has gave me recommendations and one is to not count calories.
I am frustrated as I have 3 weeks to fit into my ceremonial uniform for a work and I have to, I know it is going to be tight.
If I cant lose 10 lbs in 4 months how am I going to lose 4 to 6 lbs in 3 weeks which should be do able right?
My plan really watch what I eat, run 3 days a week due to my schedule and than walk the dog 5 days a week, do weight/kettlebell training 4 to 5 days a week.
Wish me luck. please let me know if you have been here before and how to I get past this forever plateau.

I definitely know how you feel! After pretty much 2 months of working out an eating clean the results I had were really disappointing.
To be honest, I decided the day before yesterday to go on an unhealthy fast diet because I was just... mad.
But after two days, I was miserable, tired, felt weak, depressed and I thought that it wasn't worth it.
I've learned to love working out and try easy and fun recipes so I'm back on track!
My plan is to try to do less weight training and more cardio. Up until now, I was doing weight training pretty much every day. Now I'll try to do cardio (running/jump roping) 3X/week and weight training 2X/week. I don't know for sure how it's going to work, and I can't wait to read the answers of those who could go past this horrible experience lol
Good luck!!0 -
maybe consider Intermittant Fasting..? i fast 18 hours and leave myself a 6 hour window to 'feed'. totally love it! you could also try a 16/8 split or consider 5:2 (eat stop eat). good luck!0

I've been Hypothyroid for over 10 yrs. For me it's made it much harder to lose weight- especially when I need to lose less than 10lbs.
It's possible, but it feels like I have to work twice as hard.
I would suggest you go see an endocrinologist (if you're able to and not already) to help even out your thyroid numbers. For me, I get in shape easiest when my numbers are good/I have no symptoms.
Right now my numbers are a little off and it's very frustrating.
p.s. Feel free to add me!0 -
Thanks for your support, you have given me a few things to consider.0

Also, if push comes to shove, lower your sodium intake to around 1,500mg or so for a day or two before the occasion that you will be wearing the outfit. If you also drink plenty of water, it should minimize any bloating.0
