oh no! I hope kitty is ok. Let us know how it goes.
Diana, congrats on your daughter! I think parents should get a special diploma too. We deserve it0 -
Hope kitty is alright Kate, I hate when there's something wrong with one of my fur babes :ohwell:
Beer and wine pretty much all yesterday and I'm guessing drinks tonight as husband is still in earnings so he'll be late coming home. We've been talking vacations and he's looking at one of the sister resorts of the all inclusive one we went on our honeymoon to. One of them is adults only which automatically attracts me but it's also beautiful. I just can't think about the whole flying to get there thing.
Now I think it's time to hop on the ol' bike for an hour and watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S0 -
Syd, I hate drunk bumps....good luck abstaining. After FL my drinking will be very limited as my husband is having his liver enzymes retested right before Bonnaroo. SO I'll be supportive. Hoping it will jumpstart my weight loss so I can rock a bikini at Roo.
Kate, hope your kitty is ok!
Wolf, Derby is fun. The whole month leading up to it, there's just an energy in town. And lots of excuses to drink.
I leave for FL Saturday. It will be lushy. 0 last night. 0 tonight. Maybe a couple Wednesday.0 -
Thanks guys! My Oscar is ok. No mass, but his abdomen is filled with fluid, nothing in his heart or lungs though. Vet is pretty sure its cancer but without doing a biopsy we can't tell where. We aren't going to do the biopsy, there probably isn't much we could do even if we know where the cancer is, so right now its just making sure he is happy and enjoy our time with him! My poor sweet kitty! But he seems good at the moment, so no use worrying about what tomorrow will bring!!
Monday-2 cherry lemonade vodkas with sprite zero.
Tonight we are going to a beer making class  We will be meeting for dinner before hand so there will be be either wine or beer!!!
Ashley I am jealous of your FL vacation and Bonnaroo!! Where in Fl are you going?
Have fun planning vacation Kat!
Diana-you will not regret the tropical punch vodka!!!0 -
Sorry about the kitty, but that is good that he isn't hurting.
I did pretty good for the weekend for once! Friday I had one marg and one chianti.
Saturday I had two vodka sodas and two bud lights but I pre-logged them and didn't have more, which is amazing.
Sunday=0 drinks
Monday=0 drinks
I should be able to log 0s til Thursday.0 -
Awwww...poor kitty. I'm glad he's not in any pain and seems to be ok. Hopefully that will continue for a long time.:flowerforyou:
back on track. One 0 down...many more to go.0 -
big pitcher of strawberry margaritas. then a rum night cap. I don't remember going to bed but I guess I did. Yesterday was a day from hell at work and today isn't much better. I am sure I will compensate when I get home. :blushing:
sorry about the kitty.
good luck to the zero seekers
Please don't remind me that I really need to lose some weight before vacationing. I am just not feeling it. I almost feel like I have given up at the moment.
Have a great lushy day. It has been beautiful here and it is supposed to last until Sunday. Then the rain will be back.0 -
So sorry about your kitty Kate but at least he seems to be doing well and you get some time with him. My mom's and my kitty furbal in the course of about a week or so went from a lively 14 year old lovebug to hardly being able to move. We weren't going to put him through tests but we also didn't have any time with him left because he was in bad shape. The vet waited for Kyle and I to meet my mom there before they sent him off to be with all our other fur babies. I still keep a picture of him as my moms contact picture on my phone and sometimes I still tear up. I'm pretty sure I'll have to be medicated when one of my pups go. I'm with all the fur babes all day/everyday and have more of a relationship with them than humans haha. They make me want to rip my hair out at times but I love them all to pieces
Enjoy your time with your sweet boy and spoil him rotten, though I'm sure you already do :flowerforyou:
A little too much wine last night but I don't feel too terrible. I'm downing lemon water anyway and my hour bike ride should take care of things completely. I'm sure there will be drinks tonight too, I'll get 0's at some point, though I can't say I'm actively trying :laugh:0 -
<=== I was once 16 and dressing up for "Hoe Down Day" :laugh:0

Busy thread so far this month.
Sorry about your cat, Kate- I worry like crazy every time our Frenchie has one of her flare ups of her doggy crohns. :frown:
Fresh baked goodies. I can practically smell them now! Next Lushes convention in San Diego at Syds place! :drinker:
Sounds like some fun vacations being planned. We are enjoying ours immensely - new profile pic is of the Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde. Tomorrow is our last day before heading home. We should get back to the Pac NW by Sunday. About the same time as Mamma Lush says the rains will return!0 -
Another awesome pic ryzeman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last night we went to a intro beer making class, on the 18th we are going to brew our first beer...we are going to call it 6th anniversary ale, well cause its our 6th anniversary....stop me if I've already told you this
Class was fun but we got home late and to bed late and its raining today and I'm tired WAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
I had a flight and split a beer at dinner then there were beer samples at the class, maybe a total of 1 beer...maybe 1 1/2 but who really cares hahaha!
Tonight, maybe some vodka?!0 -
Great pic, Gary!
Another 0 last night but I had cookies and brownies I had to sample before shipping off to the son for his bday. They made me feel like crap...I would have preferred some wine.
Sounds fun, Kate! You guys have been keeping up with the fun stuff since coming back from Hawaii, good job! :drinker:0 -
I had 2 days of 0's....and that's if you don't count my bloody Mary at brunch Sunday....
Tuesday was 1/2 margarita on the walk to dinner, 1/2 bottle of sauvignon blanc at dinner, and after dinner (hot tub time) a cocktail I made I didn't like a lot but still drank: whipped cream vodka, Fresca, and cran. Too sweet. What to mix the vodka with....I wonder if soda water would mellow it out. Might have to try that!0 -
vodka diet lemon sunkist. Total veg last night. I really need to get my keester up and moving. Work had been so stressful. At least the sun is great. It's too bad the rain will return on Sunday.0
-
Hey lushes!! Sorry I've been MIA lately...trying to keep the lushiness at a minimum, except for Sunday, when the husband and I ended up at the neighbor's house around 8:30 and STARTED drinking margs. Whoops.
My FAVE summer beer is out--Shiner Ruby Redbird. Nom. Husband bought me 6 six packs because last summer I couldn't find any of it.
Glad to see everyone's hanging in there!!0 -
Monday-4oz cherry vodka and sprite zero
Tuesday-2-2 1/2ish beers
Wednesday-4oz of cherry lemonade vodka and sprite zero and 1oz of kissed caramel vodka
Thursday-I think I am going to pick up some wine tonight.
Happy Thursday!

Wed-0
I guess another 0 tonight? My energy hasn't been great and neither has my sleep. The scale hasn't moved either. I'm tempted to go back to a glass of wine or 2 at night. We'll see how I feel today.
Kate your nights sound much more fun than mine!
Robin sorry work continues to suck.0 -
I've just decided to prime my liver for vacation. About a glass (maybe) shy of a bottle of wine last night. More tonight. Off to FL Saturday!0
-
wow, some kind of record for me:
Sun-Wed=0 drinks
But, I have just been rewarding myself in other ways and can't manage to keep my deficit, end up at maintenance cals every day but one...0 -
^^this^^
so I broke down and poured myself some red wine. I'll stop at 1 or 2.0 -
TGIF my lushes! :drinker:0

Woke up this morning at a koa in Provo Utah. We were going to take three days to drive the 900 miles home. But, when we head for home we are like a horse heading back to the pasture. So after 16 hours of driving we made it home to Olympia WA.
Special thanks to energy drinks and my wife's iPod which had music from such "easy listening" bands like:
Godsmack, Ramstein, Mudvayne, Korn, Seether, Metalica. I learned to appreciate the music for its abundance of screams and f-bombs. Did you know that f@ck can be a verb, nown and an adjective-- and all in one sentence?0 -

Too funny! Welcome back to the PNW. Did you bring the rain with you?
Happy Mother's Day to all the lushy mom's out there. I am celebrating with champagne this morning. :bigsmile:0 -
Happy mom's day to all you moms! My baby turns 19 tomorrow *sigh*0

Good to be back. Don't even mind the rain!
Happy Mothers day to all the moms and to the moms to be!0 -
Earlier in this thread I posted that we had taken our scale (singular) on vacation with us. I mentioned my weight was down but wondered if it was due to being closer to the equator as the centrifugal force is greater there than at the poles. While most of you thought I was looney my son did some checking. Here is the straight skinny, from NASA.
http://image.gsfc.nasa.gov/poetry/ask/a11511.html
The link takes you to the nasa web page but I copied and pasted it below:
Do you weigh differently at the North Pole than what you do at the equator?
Yes you do, because at the equator the centrifugal force due to the spinning of the Earth is at its maximum, and vanishes at the poles. This means that the attractive force of gravity is slightly reduced because it is directed towards the center of the Earth, while the centripetal force is directed outward from the center. The effective acceleration of gravity at the poles is 980.665 cm/sec/sec while at the equator it is 3.39 cm/sec/sec less due to the centrifugal force. If you weighed 100 pounds at the north pole on a spring scale, at the equator you would weigh 99.65 pounds, or 5.5 ounces less. Your mass, in grams, however would stay the same because 'grams' is a measure of the resistance of a body to being moved and has nothing to do with acceleration or gravity. Your mass in kilograms would remain the same. It is common for people to use 'pounds' and 'grams' interchangeably but they are not.
 :happy:0 -
Gary, I knew there was some difference...never doubted that. But you're still looney
lovely day today...although it's 95 degrees...even a little too warm for me...especially in May! But I'm not complaining because I know we still have our usual June gloom to look forward to.
Here's the note I got from the husband this morning:
To the mother of my son:
Thank you for being such a great mother to my son. You nurtured and raised him to be a caring, loving person...
You were alway there for him and I thank you for that (and you still are there for him!)
To truly the best mother I have ever seen.
Happy Mother's day!
He knew it was my first mother's day since the son has left...he done good.0 -
Aww Syd that's incredibly sweet...your husband is getting brownie point all over the place!!!
Very interesting Gary...very very interesting and proof I need to move south
We had a great weekend!! Friday was dinner with my gf, 2oz of tropical punch vodka with sprite zero and 2 1/2 beers.
Saturday we had my nephews communion party 4 glasses of wine during the day then 2 tropical vodka with sprite zero and about 1/2 bottle of white wine when we got home.
Yesterday I hosted Mothers day with my parents and brother and his family. It was a nice day, but I am hurting alittle today. Had 2 beers before everyone came over, 2 cocktails and probably about a bottle of wine??!!!
Think it might be a good idea to dry out a bit tonight. It is suburban beer week. Think we will go out thursday for some goose island flights at our fav beer bar and saturday we are brewing our first batch of beer.
Enjoy your day everyone!0 -
Sounds like a great weekend, Katie!
Where's Kim? She's usually pretty good about checking in.0
