New here, need some advice

Hi,

I just joined this group and had my second child 3 weeks ago. Before I got pregnant I was 189 and lost weight down to 168. I got pregnant and was 225 when I had my daughter. I am now down to 196. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to slowly transition into working out and some healthy eating tips?

  • A great way to slowly transition is simply to take long walks! Fresh air is great for kiddos, too. After that you could up to a jog, etc. Some hospitals support local "Mommy Jog" groups wherein a bunch of moms get together with strollers and do boot camps with jogging and light calisthenics.

As for eating. I also keep a ready supply of raw veggies (carrots, sugar snaps peas, bell pepper) and hummus. Perfect quick snack or put it in a tortilla wrap for a light and QUICK lunch. :)

First off,are you breast feeding or formula feeding? Because If you're BF,you shouldn't diet or cut any calories the first few months,to get your supply is good. Otherwise, try getting in lots of protein(lean fats),lots and lots and LOTS of veggies, fruits and good fats. A good walk is great for the kids and for you. Not sure where you're living but if its warm enough to take a stroll, try to go out twice a day for 30 min. You'll be sure to drop those lbs fast! :) Congrats!
