calibration

Has anyone tried to calibrate it to an actual distance? My steps looked a little high so today I walked a mile and tried to calibrate. I guess I will see what happens over the next week.

I found the best way to calibrate was to walk on a treadmill at your normal pace/rate that you would walk around during the day. Then you have a specific distance/time/rate to compare data.0

When I first got my UP I did a couple calibration tests along with a backup app to see how my steps/distance compared. I found that the UP was fairly accurate after doing this.
The best question is what's a step? Your stride can change with each step. You could be taking small steps up stairs or in the kitchen and larger steps going to the living room or out in the mall.
All of these things will have some margin of error.0
