it is hard, but its doable. last year i lost 27lbs in 6 mos, which i thought was pretty good, but then i hit the wall and gained most of it back. this time is a little harder, but i am losing slowly but surely.
i take a medication that promotes weight gain, and i take a lot of it, so i'm not the best person to judge by. but if i can do, anyone can0 -
For me I've found it impossible on certains meds (zyprexa) to lose any weight no matter how I worked at it. Now that I've switched meds, even though I'm on a few known weight gainers (seroquel, lithium, saphris) I've lost 38lbs since January. So I would suggest you keep track of your efforts and after a month or two you don't see results despite doing the right things I would talk to your doctor about other meds, especially if it is continuing to cause weight gain.0

I am taking lithium, and sequel and lamictal. I lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks recently after a medication change and because I am working out. Now I appear to be at a plateau. I didn't lose any weight last week at all.0

Plateaus are just when your metabolism has to rewrite itself so it goes faster it takes quite a bit of time for the metabolism to catch up too all the changes we make. Give it a week or two and you should see a loss again.0

I lost 11 pounds after going on Topomax. I stopped taking Topomax, and started taking lithium and I stopped losing weight.0

Well, one medication in particular helped me lose weight...but I stopped sleeping and eating and thought my friends and relatives were holding meetings about me. It was quite, quite horrible. But I had lost a dress seize afterwards!
1 week is not very long - if you are still about, has your weight loss continued?
Do you have a regular thyroid function test? I take lithium and it caused hypothyroidism. It's easier for me to lose weight now I take Levothyroxine. I still have to eat less and move more, but it is coming off more easily than before.
A psych nurse informed a friend who also takes Seroquel that people gain weight on it as they feel more sedated and don't want to exercise, but I disagree with them. Whilst I didn't get to tip the scales at 104kg from eating salad, I really don't like sweet things and would rather eat cheese, crisps, or olives. Since I started Seroquel though, I found myself wanting to eat things like Skittles and Coke. I have never craved sugar like that before.0
