This group needs more activity .. How is everyone doing? Getting close to your goals? Any BFP's ( big fat positives)? Anyone just depressed with the whole thought and needs a good cheering up?
I will start..
I am very depressed that I am on my 3rd cycle of Clomid and I should be ovulating but I am not.. I have lost 32 lbs and other then looking better it is not helping the PCOS in a way I can see..
I am closer to my first major goal of 199 tho only 13 lbs to go... I have a good feeling that is the trick to getting that BFP since I was under 200 with my other 2 kids...

Great progress on your weight loss goals! I'm sorry your clomid treatment hasn't been successful yet. Have they changed the dosage? Some ladies on here say femara works better for them.
I'm slowly getting better. After conceiving on clomid in February, we lost the baby in April. My last lab worked showed that in a week my hcg levels dropped from around 4000 to just under 600. That was encouraging, at least. The levels have to get back to 0 before I can expect a period. I may not even get a period on my own, and need provera like I usually do. My doctor wants me to wait two cycles before trying again. I'm trying to lose the few pounds I gained during the pregnancy. Still grieving the loss, but my body is returning to normal. My breasts have shrunk down to their normal, tiny, size and not as tender. My stomach is more flat (made a major mistake trying to do ab exercises too early---ouch!).
I'm hopeful for a future healthy pregnancy. I think my miscarriage was the result of a genetic abnormality. I've read various places that women with PCOS are more likely to miscarry--some sources citing up to 30 to 50%! On more scientific/medical sources, I can't find any indication that PCOS is related to miscarriage, perhaps other than obesity and/or insulin resistance related complications. Does anybody have any information on this?0 -
Very sorry about your pregnancy loss
I'm currently still on BC, my naturopath is helping me to make big changes to my diet and supplements in advance of coming off the pill, so hopefully it is a little easier on me and doesn't lead to a huge flare up of testosterone-y symptoms. I've been working on that for a few weeks now.
So I've got another appointment in 3 weeks, at which point I should be coming off the pill, and starting up some supplements for ovulation induction, so hopefully in a couple months I will be officially trying. Nerve-wracking... especially seeing some of the stories from people who are long term TTC.
It seems like every one of my friends who is pregnant or has had kids got pregnant their first month trying. SO frustrating knowing how easy it was for them, and knowing (having not had a "natural" period since I was about 17) that it is just not going to be that way for me. And they don't seem to understand why I'm working so hard at changing my life and seeing doctors when I'm not even officially trying yet. One of my friends said to me "well you should probably try for at least 6 months before you start seeing doctors about it". Um, there's no point in trying for 6 months without doing anything about it if I know that I'm NOT ovulating! I mean, that's something that needs to be treated before there's even any point in trying, so why would I wait to do something about it?!0 -
Sorry you are having that experience. My doctor didn't make me wait an entire year before giving me clomid. It was obvious I wasn't ovulating. Good for you for taking charge of your body so you are at your best when you ARE ready to conceive. Are you taking prenatals? Keep up the good work!0

Good call that the group needs more activity I don't really post much, but enjoy reading to hear about others in the same boat. No BFP yet, but still hoping. Down a little over 30 lbs, which has brought back a more regular period, for possibly the first time ever. I'm pretty sure I ovulated yesterday, so just settling in to the 2ww. Keeping thoughts positive and fingers crossed We just passed our two years trying mark and I'm really hoping that we'll have better luck now that I"m getting more regular.
Way to go, getting on top of things. I wish I hadn't wasted so much time when we started before trying to figure out what was going on. Good luck and baby dust to everyone!0 -

My clomid was upped and still didn't. My OB/GYN said that after this month if it didn't work then she would send me to a specialist.. I don't have the time or money for that so I'm just waiting for the weight to drop low enough for my body to respond.
Sorry about your loss. I had heard that girls like us run a higher rate of miscarraige and that Metformin helps.. Maybe talk to your doc about it.0 -

That is odd that they won't give you clomid since you are having to force a period.
I know how frustrating it is having friends being pregnant after 1 try. I have a few right now and it is so hard for me to be happy for them. I concieved my daughter on a 1 time deal.. I had just lost 90 lbs and was at a wonderful 186. Had a one night stand and BAM BFP.. but with my son I had to try forever.. My now husband and I have been together for 3 years and never used protection still nothing ..
People that have not been in our position don't get it.. Im glad there are places like this so we can talk to people that understand..0 -
I am frustrated! Been trying w/ meds on and off for about 2 years... last month AF was almost a week and a half early. April had lots of globby EWCM (TMI Sorry) AF has not shown up this month. Usually 32 days.. so that would of been Sat or Sunday.. No sign of it coming, crampy, back ache, headache, felt icky yesterday, Sat took a test BFN. I am going camping this weekend, so I was hoping if I was going to get AF she would be here on time so least Mother's day weekend I can enjoy myself. UGH.... anybody have a negative before receiving a positive? I am pretty sure Im out.. I guess, I will wait till I get back from camping and take another test if AF hasn't showed up.0

Had my hcg tested again this morning. 2 weeks ago it was in the 570s, so hoping it has dropped significantly in that time. Out of curiosity, I took a hpt on Thursday and it was still (faintly) positive .
Other than waiting on AF, I'm trying to decide if I should continue treatment with my obgyn or go to the reproductive specialists. I really don't think the loss was related to PCOS, but it's still a blow. It's hard to say where I would get more attention. I do know that the RE would be slightly more expensive even after insurance coverage. I'm leaning toward giving my current ob/gyn a few more rounds of clomid when the time comes. Thoughts? I did conceive after 1 round of 50mg of clomid + trigger shot, so is an RE really necessary at this point?0 -

I understand that frustration! Last month AF was VERY late I thought for sure I was preggo, NOPE.. Then I thought it was a good thing it was late cuz maybe this month it would adjust it so I was not having my period durring the time I am in a wedding.. My temps are up but still no AF..
With my son I had not had a period for 6 months. Must have timed it just right and got preggo on the 6th month.. I started having all the symptoms and kept getting BFN.. Finally after 3 months I got a BFP..0 -
queenfrump, Sorry your still having to wait for AF Personally I would just talk to your ob/gyn. See what they think.. Since it was your first loss, I would try that route first. Once you conceive they may send you to see a high risk doc to help make sure you have a healthy full term pregnancy. Good Luck and Huge hugs0

Sorry I'm a little late to the party. But I wish everyone happy well wishes and a happy healthy pregnanacy in the near future.
WIth me we did 4 rounds of clomid and 1 IUI and nothing from any of them. So now my husband and I are in an IVM study. It's like IVF. Anyways, last Tuesday we had a transfer of two embyos. I don't care how many come out of it, just as long as they are healthy and happy. So I go in on Thursday to see if they took by a blood draw. I won't know if they both took or just one. But just praying and staying positive that this one worked.
Not sure if anyone has done IVF or knows anyone that has. I have to put these hormone patches on my stomach 4 of them every other day. I feel like you can play connect the patches lol.. Anyways... That is where we are. Hoping for POSITIVE results Thursday Afternoon!0 -

Hi all ,
I am new to the group... I have PCOS and have been TTC for on and off seven years. I've had three failed IUI's and not in a financial position to do IVF yet. I am in a valley right now trying to figure out what I want to do..... Surgery (NO surgery). I have been dealing with my PCOS for over ten years now ... the problem is the last five have been crazy ... 3 transfusions... 4 DNC's and tones of medication. I feel like my quality of life is being sucked away. I question my fight often... then when I see the little faces I remember. I just want to say hey and anyone is welcome to add me.

Things are going good my way. I am down 30 pounds and am on my 3rd regular cycle. We have not been ttc because my husband is so back and forth about when he wants a baby. Somedays he's into it others not so much. Pretty frusterating!!! I have a lot of faith that when we do try it won't take long because I'm at a pretty good weight and my body is working like it should be. I'm starting school next month so I told my husband I won't be bugging him about a baby for a while, and guess what he says??? "We'll talk about it tonight, Cutie" Like now he wants one because I'm not pushing for it!!! LOL MEN!!!!
Good Luck to all of you currently trying!0 -
Big temp drop this morning, AF on her way0

Hey I'm fairly new to the group and I am FRUSTRATED with PCOS...the meds and supplements that I take seem to make me feel worse and as soon as I lose some weight something happens and it creeps back up. I had lost 18 lbs and now I gained 11 back. I am going to try again with taking all of meds, working out and slowing adopting the PCOS diet foods. I hope that this will help me to lose the weight. I have been ttc for about 4 years. No BFP ever. I hope that this can change this year. Everyone around me is pregnant. It's a lil crazy but I still have some hope left.0

ok have to vent! A friends sister.. just found out she is pregnant... she has PCOS... 1st apt at the doctor 22 weeks/ having a girl..... sad situation, her youngest is 12, her two older kids haven't lived at home for some time because she is such a piece of work. Really why does she get to be blessed with a healthy child, after all her stupid actions. I know she drank most of the time, they are still doing tests to see just how healthy this baby is, but it's so frustrating.. and who doesn't know their pregnant till 22 weeks... my sister is 25 weeks.. she is huge as a barn (lol) she is tiny, so no where for baby to go but out... ok.. not fair.. she doesn't deserve this nor does she need this....ok.. sorry... not very nice.. but I want to scream!0

Another vent... sorry Hubby had to bring his sample to be tested within 30 minutes.. His Dr. 1) gave him the wrong container 2) send him to the wrong lab 3) the lab jerked him around so long that it wasted the 30 minutes and the test was no good. I am so furious. I called the office in tears telling them of their royal screw up. Hubby says he is done with Dr's and won't do it again. I want to cry.........in fact I am crying!0
-
Sorry to hear about the mix-up, that's so frustrating! It amazes me how often those kind of screw ups happen. Hopefully once he has a little time, your husband will be ok trying again. And I agree with Jeep, seems like everyone is pregnant right now. Easy to feel down about things when it seems easy for everyone else. But trying to stay positive. Some days are better than others.0

I am not doing well I posted earlier... on the road to transfusion # 4 and DNC #4 along with another proceedure so they can look at my organs. They found a fibroid as well. I sat and wondered if it all worth it. I can't work out to lose wt .... cause this cycle is still going on. I almost fell in the shower a few days ago... I am not in the best shape. I wrote a blog ... on here you all are more than welcome to read it . Things are tough.... and my hubby and I decided after all this is over .... we are going to do IVF. So .... we shall see. Hopefully a silver lining ... will come soon .0

We've decided to give TTC another go a few months ago really. (It's been several years since our one failed IVF and at the time we didn't feel like we could have more right then.) New city, new hospital, going for NHS funded treatments this time around. We're having all the normal tests redone at the moment: I've had my bloods and a scan, hsg next week, DH's had his test.
I'm not sure if we'll be put straight for IVF or if we'll get to mess about with Clomid first this time around (last time they thought Clomid wouldn't be of any use to us, so never even tried.)
So.... I'm impatient!
Weight loss has been very slow the past few months too, and I'm getting impatient about that, too.0 -
Another late cycle.. waiting for AF to show... How is everyone else doing?:explode:0
-
I am doing ok.. Had a very weird period of just 4 days then about a week ago I have lots fo ewcm with blood in it.. it lasted for like 6 days and now my temp is slowly rising.. not sure if a real period is on its way or what.. My weight is just kinda stuck.. ..0
-
Well I've lost 11% body weight this year and started what seemed like a normal period 9 days ago. Hoping that maybe with the weight loss and the summer (I have much more regular periods in the summer months for some reason, but not sure if that correlates to me oing) I will actually ovulate this cycle. Fingers crossed and bbt charts at the ready.
My Mom is getting impatient for another grandchild (well actually she's just a lovely lady who is super supportive) and offered to pay for me to go back to the RE to get help again. I did one round of injectables last time to conceive my 14 month old DS, but was really hoping I could avoid that and did not want to pay for it until I could hopefully put that and a baby into one full year of insurance deductibles beginning late this year or January next year. Think we'll make an appointment for September if there is no success by then.0
