Well it was strep again. This is getting ridiculous. I had a zero yesterday. Probably the same today but no guarantees.
Kat sorry about the pup. I know it is hard.
Loved the video. Controversial but funny and on point.0 -
Kat so sorry about your pup
I NEED TO DRY OUT!!!! Extremely lushy week last week and tons of food I shouldn't have been eating. I am shooting for a few 0's and lots of salads this week0 -
I'm back from Destin! It was nice and I think we drank the equivalent of about 2.5 cases of wine over 6 days. And some beers. Now starts my mostly abstaining. I had 1/2 pitcher of mimosas and a glass of wine with my girlfriends at brunch yesterday and that's it! The weekend wasn't too tough because I was still trying to recover from vacation, but I suspects the upcoming weekends will be hard. I need to be strong and support my husband. And hopefully lose the 2-3 pounds I gained in FL. :noway:
Hope you're all doing well!0 -
Sat - 6 beers
Sun - 5 beers0 -
I had a pretty good weekend managing to drink and keep calories manageable!
Friday=8 oz of wine
Saturday=4 beers
Sunday=1 michelada and 1 Summer Shandy
Tonight I might have some more of that wine I corked from Friday, don't want it to go bad!
Kat, sorry about your beloved pup, and your mom's, it's so hard!0 -
I shared some white wine with Doug last night. We had halibut for dinner. It was fresh and soooo good. I made it with a cilantro, garlic lime butter.
I have to work a 12 hour day today so its going to be a long one.
Happy lushing my friends.0 -
Robin hope your 12hr day went smoothly and you are feeling a bit better!!!

Way to get the 0's in there Kate!
Hope you're feeling better, Robin.
0 for me again. Dr appointment today. I'm thinking wine tonight.0 -
Hey lushes...just checking in
I'm horrified by the tornado that wiped out the elementary school. I can't even watch the news and hear of them. The CT massacre funerals had me depressed for a long, long time. I'll not complain about their messy rooms or missing assignments for a while.
I've been super busy in the yard and drinking coronas because I get thirsty.
Ryze, the video rings true as I do work with a lot of gay male nurses.
Robin, something has got to change.
Ashley, you did it in January - you can do it again
Syd, good luck at the MD
Kate, I am with you - I need salads and zeros
Kat, my Shelby is going to be 13 this year and I am sure this will be her last summer because her legs are not going to hold out much longer. It will be a sad, sad day for sure. I would want to be your dog for sure, your a great mama0 -
Way to get the 0's in there Kate!
Hope you're feeling better, Robin.
0 for me again. Dr appointment today. I'm thinking wine tonight.
Good luck at your appt today!

Monday=1 glass of wine0
-
Aww thanks nisi and thank you all
Wine last night and probably tonight as well. It was 83 yesterday and it's sunny and 87 today....this weather just begs for ice cold beer/wine. I'll get a work out in though because husband put our new bike together.0 -
Appt went ok...8 pounds down from last year. Pretty pitiful effort but better than nothing, huh?
I just spent a crazzzyyyyy amount of $$$ on a new mattress. :noway: I better sleep like the dead on this thing.0 -
Hey 8 pounds is good :-)
Well I'm off the alcohol as I can't drink due to some pain meds for my back as I'm going through a pretty bad time with it just now. Can't do much at the gym either, so I've decided to focus on cleaning up my eating and getting a bit leaner over the next few weeks while I'm out of action. Trouble is resisting the urge to sit around eating junk as it seems so much easier than preparing food.0 -
good to see you yvonne...sorry to see your back is acting up. Back issues really suck.0
-
Sorry about your back Yvonne! And I agree its tough being out of commission and its realy easy to say "F it". Be strong and do the best you can!! Good Luck!!!
Syd, 8lbs is awesome!!!! Congrats Hon!!!

Wednesday-0 planned BUT vodka tonics have been running through my head...we shall see!0 -
Hope your back gets better ASAP Yvonne!
Look at you and those 0's kblue!
Wine last night and I'm sure tonight as well. I don't feel quite as bad about that since I'm able to work out again0 -
The 12 hour day went well. Yesterday was just another day. Today is a good day because I am over on another program for the day. I will try to be good tonight. I am still feeling a little drained but the meds seem to be kicking the strep.
Glad you stopped in Yvonne, we have missed you.
Glad the doctors appt went well Syd.
Kim I agree the news is hard to watch and it really makes you stop and wonder what we are complaining about.
Happy Lushing all!!0 -
I was ready for a 0 but then I thought, nah, I want a cervarita, corono mixed with tequila and marg mix, so I did. I guess that is 2 drinks, technically!
Excited about Vegas on Saturday, should be good! We are staying at Mandalay Bay and have tickets for Thunder from Downunder, which is just because it's my friend's bachelorette and I think you kind of have to do that kind of thing.0 -
Hey lushes! I'm here...trying to keep the lushiness to a minimum. This summer should be interesting--hubs and I are trying to NOT drink our way through the summer by planning more "out of the neighborhood" activities with the kids. Of course, there's a beer-chugging/running race in Denver at the end of August that we're thinking of doing..
Have fun in Vegas, Amy!0 -
I agree with Yvonne - it's way easier to eat a bag of chips than prepare a salad.
It's taken me 2 days to make homemade lasagna with bechemel sauce....but, alas it is done. Giant pot of meat sauce with homemade pork sausage, veal & beef should be enough for many, many dinners.
I'm thinking of starting a supper club once a month with wine samplings. The host provides the main dish and others provide an app or dessert with a bottle of wine to accompany it. Anyone else do this? I could definitely start it with a lasagna if it's cool out - or - a fondue.
Amy, the beer-rita sounds good. What's Thunder down Under - I'm almost afraid to ask because my mind goes to naughty thoughts.
Kate - Day 3 is the b*tch where you have the racing alcohol thoughts.
Syd - add the 8 from this to year the poundage from last year and think how awesome you are.
OK, I've decided to do 10 days of no alcohol as I've been OUT of CONTROL.
Robin, glad you are starting to feel better.0 -
Hi all...
Checking in... been drinking...not a lot...but just enough. Having grown children issues that is making me doubt every parental decision I have ever made. How I wish I just raised dogs instead :ohwell:0 -
Diana, I have my moments like that too...keep your chin up girl
I know this is strange but I might start sobriety tomorrow since I work Friday - too much time off is not a good thing0 -

Bam. I really wanted to cave last night. Was watching Man vs. Food and he was eating all these giant sandwiches with beer. But I am being strong since my husband isn't supposed to be drinking.
I am curious what the outcome of his tests will be. If his enzymes are lower, his b*tch dr. will certainly say it's from abstaining and that he shouldn't drink anymore; (she is a judgemental nondrinker). However, he had had a beer at lunch the day his labs were drawn and I'm wondering if this affected his enzymes. Hmmm..... Anyone else have any input on liver enzymes and testing? I think I've heard some of you abstain for a couple weeks prior to testing.
Hopefully I can remain strong through the weekend.0 -
Kim, that lasagna sounds fabulous! Supper club sounds fun!!!
Ashley, know nothing about enzymes, sorry and good luck to you and the hubs!
Diana, sorry honey hope it all works out!
Amy, have a great time in vegas!!!

Wednesday-EPIC FAIL  like seriously. It was so warm and sunny yesterday and I starting craving margaritas so we talked each other into going out for mexican. We split a pitcher of margs...about 3 1/2 each, then stopped for a beer at Iron Hill (which is across the street from restaurant) THEN stopped for a beer at Appalachain Brewing Co. on the way home  . I don't feel too horrible today but def slow.
Tonight NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Vodka and pomigranite juice last night. Had the Pom sitting around because Doug made this fabulous cerviche with halibut that called for pom juice. Awesome light dinner.
Kim, Thunder Down Under is the Aussie version of Chippendales. They were on Project Runway a while ago.(That is how I know this info:blushing: )
The weather is so weird. Last month we had record highs and then yesterday we had a record for the coldedst high temperature. Its rainy and yucky. I was hoping my birthday weekend would be sunny but it is going to be hit and miss.
Birthday plans include dinner with my Dad on Saturday out at their island home. She is grilling rib eye for us. On Sunday, Doug and I are going to go to the casino for dinner and some play. ( I love roulette and they have some fantastic restaurants) and then Monday - my actual bithday - I am going to do whatever the hell I want and it will start with champagne and end with cognac.
Happy lushing all.0 -

Sounds like a fabulous bday weekend regardless of weather! Happy Early Birthday! ENJOY! xo0 -
Oh Diana...hope the family drama eases up for you. Do we ever stop worrying about our kids? I get to see mine tomorrow and I'm just beside myself with excitement. I already warned him that he's going to have to endure many mom hugs this weekend and to just suck it up and deal.
Have a wonderful birthday weekend...sounds like tons of fun planned Robin!
and oh Kate...your post made me LOL...that sounds like a great way to get through the middle of the week!
I'm packing up for our getaway to Laguna Beach. The booze alone will take up a good portion of the back of the SUV :drinker: The weather is cool but we should see plenty of sun. The ocean is just so beautiful/calming no matter..so all is good.0 -
Thanks, Robin!! I knew Thunder down Under was a naughty thing in some sort of way. Enjoy your birthday weekend and I hope your lucky numbers hit it big.
Kate, Day #3 meltdown always gets me too. Sounds like a lovely evening.
Ashley, I just know the basics about liver enzymes. It might be possible that you just see a GI specialist for more specifics. Sometimes, you can just call a triage nurse at place and ask some questions.
Sydney - the weekend sounds fab. Enjoy your young man and hug away.
Day 1 - Success - although I took some leftover wine out and was tempted0 -
Wed - a beer and a rum/ coke0
