Usually anything with the word "surgery" tends to freak me out.0

me too, something I have pondered for years...not sure I can actually do it, but I am very motivated...0

Hi Carol,
I personally have not had the surgery but know three people who have, none of which had lasting positive results. From what they have told me, after the surgery, the key to losing weight is calorie/portion control, healthy eating, and exercise. The steps that all of us on MFP are taking to begin with.
From what I've seen, I would say skip the surgery and go the old fashioned way. But that's just me.
Good luck.0 -
The only people I know who want to have surgery is to remove the excess skin they couldn't get rid off...but they lost the weight through good diet and exercise.0

So have you come to a decision yet?0

I only know one person who had surgery and she gained all her weight back because she didn't know how to eat right. I lost 100lbs and I did it because exercising and learning to eat well. I have kept it for for many years now and now I love helping others with their weight loss journeys. If you have questions let me know.0
