Should I worry or play it by ear?

I did OHP today50x6x5 so my upper back has been worked and is fatigued when I try to lift my 3 year old into his carseat. He flexed his feet and grabbed the car with them so there was a sudden jerk of resistance.:mad: Now it is 4 hours later and I can't bring my chin to my chest with out a sharp pain between my upper shoulder blades.:sad: what should I do?

Sharp pain is a little worrisome - I would try some very gentle stretching and icing the area. If it still hurts the same way and with the same limited range of motion you might want to see a chiro or doctor.0

I agree with Tameko 100%.
When I get pains like that I alternate 10 min ice, 5 min off, 10 min heat 5 min off, 10 min ice and repeat every few hours. Take some anti-inflammatory med like Alieve, Motrin, or Tylenol. Try not to hold positions that cause the pain, but do some SLOW stretches. Rest for now.
OHP can trigger slight pulls in my neck and cause me sharp pain and stiffness. I do the above and try to get into my chiro ASAP.0 -
Thank you.i have started the cold and hot with ibuprofen to top it off. Guess ill see how it feels in the morning. I don't lift again till Monday hope I feel ok by then. Any suggestions for modification to the rows if I need them?0

you shouldn't have an issue with them since it shouldn't be pulling in the same area at all (different motion) buuuut.... if its still painful on Monday you could just skip them.0 -

Sounds like a sprain/strain. Treatment would be as above.
If not better in a few days, go see a doc.
Seems I'm forever nursing some sort of sprain/strain/muscle knot, bruise, cut, etc. My body is a veritable cornucopia of boo-boos. :glasses:0 -
Thanks all! The sharp pain is gone this morning. Now I am just stiff from my mid back to the bace of my neck. Slow stretches today and a hot shower and many a rub down from the hubby0
