Strava challenges vs The Kids

Ok, so I've spent months lecturing my kids on spending less time on the Xbox and laptop and that the virtual items that they collect (maps for call of duty, players for Fifa 13 and costumes for club Penguin... need I mention more) is a waste of money and doesn't mean anything in the real world. Anyway, fast forward to this evening and I'm trying desperately to clock up 45 miles (much to my wife's frustration) so that I can claim my 1000 km badge on the Strava May Massive challenge.

You reap what you sow!!

At least my virtual badges are free though.

Strava is addictive in a good way. I make my kids do exercises to gain time on the computer and for video games. Running, bike riding, lifting weights, jumping jacks....whatever they want to do. 30 minutes of exercise equals 30 minutes of game time.
