    Thanks Nikki,

Planning my 1st 10% ride for this weekend, weather permitting.

Happy to take suggestions for a team name from the Team 2 colleagues. My mind is a blank and things like 'Str-avatars', 'Chain-gang' or 'Dune riders' just don't seem to cut the mustard. If any of you guys are not linked to me on Strava, the QR code I'm using in my profile pics links to my account.

Enjoy the June riding everyone and stay safe out there.

Riding with the Duece? (play on team #2...)
    2 Far, 2 Fast, 2 Bad?
    Just 2 more?
    Incredible Shrinking Cyclists?

I too am planning a 10% ride this weekend, if the back lets up (I tweaked it yesterday and am still very sore).

Ok. Thanks to Spatialized and Travisbikes for some suggestions regarding team names. Thought I'd go for a play on words with Team 'Ti-red' or just 'Ti' for short. Ti being 'titanium' and 'Take It to the limit' and tired being the state we will be in once we complete our rides.

Hope you like. So much responsibility. Hope you all got your 10% rides planned.

    Hi folks/Nikki!

Real sorry, it's been a bit of a hectic weekend and not really had much chance to sit down and work this stuff out!

Honored to be named team captain for Team 1! Shoulders aren't really creaking from the responsibility!

My Imagination is a bit rubbish when it comes to thinking stuff up, how about 'Crank Addicts' as the team name? I mean C'mon we all are aren't we?! Any other suggestions are welcome.

Let's go Team 1, I'll be out on my lunch break today!

Haha... that was my team name in the National Bike Challenge last year so you know I like it.

Yeehaw! Lets go, love the name. Figured life was just crazy, but wanted to check. I'm picking up Roxy today, will eventually get a ride in.

Can we record more than 1 activity per day? I have boot camp (which is anything but casual) in the mornings and then try and ride after work (nothing big but still getting miles). Just wanted to check since boot camp started this morning.

Sure, you can be Ti-red (team 2). Teams are even, but Team 1 had more mileage. it's based on percent of goal so it's all good.

    Hi,

Sorry not been very active last couple of days. It has been 'life' and not the weather that got in the way for once. Hope everybody is OK and been clocking up plenty of mileage. I still hope to get my 10% bonus ride in before Friday... just need to be a bit more prepared with leaving work early one day this week. Thinking Friday might be the best choice.

Will log my 2 commutes from today later... laters!!

Instead of spamming multiple rides in one day, I'll do cumulative mileage/time/elevation and still have links to the rides. My commutes are my riding time but I want to make it easier to read/follow. Hope that works. While not running out of time for a 10% ride, not sure if it will happen, time (and my slowly recovering back) are not my friends right now. It's only Monday though.

    Mid-week recap...

Team 2 only has 2 players with logged activity, but thanks to bonus points from the pre-challenge captains challenge and Hawkeyegals 10% ride, Ti-red is leading the battle with 32.3 pts.

Crank Addicts have way more rides entered and a bonus from Coltsman to give them 21.9pts.

At the end of the week when leader bonuses are figured in and all rides are logged, this could be turned upside down.

Captains, I have no activity logged for the following folks... They might need a nudge, or they may just be waiting to log it at the end of the week for a BOOM.

Crank Addicts: kendallsauntie (Great job on participation)

Ti-red: Spatialized, mdstamand, travisbikes, VasylP, Redsunshine 365, twinkietigress

Ride on and strive to go just a little further each day.

Just a heads up... Next week's (6/8 - 6/14) challenge is about the climb. 10 points per ride with a 1000+ft of climb.

Today is the final day of Week 1, all rides being considered for weekly points must be entered no later than Monday 2 PM EST.

Primary points are based on percdentage of goal attained at the end of the week. 10% = 10pts

Cross training points are 1hr = 1pt (this is a ride challenge afterall).

Bonus points for this week will be awarded for

    - 10% in a single ride - 10pts per person.
    - Individual with the most miles in a day - 10pts.
    - Individual with the most miles for the week - 10pts.
    - Individual with the most feet climbed for the week - 10pts.
    - Individual with the most points for the week - 5 pts.

Results will be posted on Tuesday.

On another note....I need to apologize to my team for completely missing the mark with my goal this month. 400-500 miles would have been an average month for me if it weren't for the fact that I'm in charge of VBS, but I thought I could swing 400 even with a week off. Forgot all the time it takes to make VBS happen beforehand, and the fact is I'm struggling to fit everything in. When I do clear time to keep sane, it rains. I'll do better, but I'm not sure 400 is feasible. Sorry y'all!

FDS is killing it with 13,000+ ft in a single ride. Wish said 10+ for every 1000 in a single ride(he is on my team). Think anyonw would mind if I change that?

    Great ride man! :drinker:

So here are the results from Week 1...

Weekly Mileage Leader: FDS from CA with 157.6 miles
Longest Single Ride: FDS from CA with 59.2 miles
Weekly Elevation Diva/Dude: FDS from Crank Addicts with 12.464ft

Points Leader (Percentage, CT, Bonus, etc): RoadKingDavid from Crank Addicts with a whopping 60.3 points.

It is very close but...only 11.4 points separate the teams. Crank Addicts slide into the lead this week!
Ti-red with 201.8 points vs Crank Addicts with 213.2 points.

Well... it was good whilst I was at the top of the longest single ride list. :noway: Well done to FDS for the 'Hat trick'.

Come on titanium red devils  The race is on. Get those miles logged

I am loving this. Sorry if my mileage goal was low at 125 miles. This is my first month owning a roadbike in 20 years. Next challenge I'll up the mileage goal to 250 miles. You guys rock.

WEEK 3 Challenge has gone exponential. This is a consecutive day challenge that will go to the end of the month. You must ride a minimum distance of 12.4 miles (20km - I do respect the link to the metric system) per day to count. Points will increase exponentially: 2 Days = 2pts, 3 Days = 4pts, 4=8pts, 5=16, 6=32, 7=64, 8=128, etc...

    Enjoy!

BTW if anybody has an idea for week 4 please share, I'm running out of ideas.

time for a shameless plug for next the next challenge... As it actually is themed on LeTour, it actually commences 2 days before the end of june - so, you may have to be in 2 challenges at once for a short while...

Signup thread for the second installment of the Grand Tour Challenge is at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/964334-mfp-grand-tour-cycling-challenge-discussion-signup-thread?page=10#posts-15661060

a few of you have already found the thread, but there are still a few slots open - I'm restricting the intake to 3 teams of 9, I'm afraid, and we're half way filled on the second team, so it may be a good idea to get your place booked asap.

see you in the other thread... and please don't let this advert spoil your concentration on the June Challenge - it all seems a bit complicated for me - I just ride my bike...
