Hypothyroidism?

Hi ladies! I'm wondering if anyone else is dealing with hyperthyroidism while pregnant? This is my third pregnancy, but I didn't have any thyroid problems with the first two. I had my thyroid destroyed with radioactive iodine about 5 years ago and I'm finding there are some definite changes this pregnancy - mostly regarding weight! :grumble:

I was diagnosed as borderline hypothyroidism. My numbers are on the upper range of normal which, according to my RE, is a little high for fertility purposes. She has me on my levothyroxide for the entire duration of the pregnancy. I'm nearing 15 weeks and up about 3-4 lbs so I'm hoping I can keep up the low weight gain with continued exercise.

I am 14 weeks this week and my thyroid was about 9.75 when I found out I was pregnant around 5 weeks. It's come down but they just have to closely monitor it. I've already gone over in my head,,what if it's going to do this or that..but eventually you stress yourself out. I've gained more weight than I should have and i'm already at like 7 lbs at 14 weeks. I sit all day but try to get in light workouts at least 4 days per week but I need to push myself a bit harder. I'm already over my ideal body weight so I really have to watch my calorie intake. Hope you are doing okay with it! Just take your meds, and make sure you don't take your vitamin until 4 hrs after the levothryoxine.

I'm hypothyroid, but I have been in both pregnancies. I put on nearly 50 with my first and at 35 weeks this time am close to 17 pounds. So it can be controlled for me at least with diet and exercise. It's different for everyone though and it may be harder work for you this time.

Just about the same here...have fluctuated between 0.5 and 0.25 doses of levothyroxine/synthroid throughout my pregnancy.
I've managed to gain roughly 15 lbs my entire pregnancy and I'm 36 weeks...I wasn't really aware it could mean for a higher weight gain but I certainly watched my diet and kept up with exercise...mostly yoga and walking. I was diagnosed with borderline GD (glucose intolerance) at the beginning of May and I've been tracking my levels ever since.

This whole pregnancy has been about adjusting!

I gave birth 2 weeks ago but also have hypothyroidism. I was taking synthroid prior to getting pregnant and once I got pregnant my blood was checked more frequently and my dosage increased when my TSH started rising. I gave birth at 37w 2 d to a 6lb 4 oz boy after gaining a total of 24lbs. I did however watch what I ate and exercised 5 days a week right until the end. Not easy, but possible.

Yes, I was diagnosed well before I got pregnant, so I am not sure what being pregnant and having a normal thyroid would feel like. I've gone up on my dose from 88 to 125. Most days I feel ok, and I've been working out 3-4x a week plus walking. I've gained a lot of weight, though and I'll probably have quite a bit of work to do once I deliver.
